HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYBODY!
Finally this week is coming to an end. I just have to make it through today and I have off tomorrow.
No run this morning, so I'm doing a nice full weight workout.
Hopefully the snow storm they predict will not happen and it will be sunny and warm in the mid 70's. (I can dream, can't I?)

Morning! I'll try to shout out when I get to work.

My leg looks horrible. I'll take a picture and post it.

I did the elliptical this morning for 40 minutes pain-free. My knee actually does feel better. She said it wouldn't be cured overnight, but it's definitely better.

Everyone be careful in the freezing rain!!! Love you guys!!
It is all bruised from the Graston... it's basically a stainles steel thing that looks like a putty knife that is raked across the muscle. I seriously need to take a picture. I am proud of my batter scar!!
This will probably be huge, but here it is.

OMG, that IS huge. So sorry. I'm sure the last thing everyone wanted to see is my huge ass leg all over their screen.
I have some lovely biking tan lines, too. Yikes.
That's good to hear about the bruising. It is really sore right there, obviously!
I go back on Monday. I am going on a business trip next week, so she wanted to see me before I left.

It went well - lots of stuff going on with that leg, and she started to fix some of it. thanks for asking!!
Graston is REALLY hard massage. That's really all. Instead of fingers, stainless steel tools are used so that it's more precise and they can push harder. I thought it was bullshit too. the jury is still out, but it HAS helped so far.
I am eating a huge ass piece of cake, Ty. So don't feel bad about your bread. You deserve it!!
I am willing to try anything at this point. I hope to be back up to at least 25mpw soon. I have a HM on March 15, and she said I should be good to go by then.
I can handle pain, as long as I am not doing any damage, but the IT band pain was so bad I could not go on. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so this told me that it was time to do something about it.
Even if the graston doesn't work, the adjustments and the massage are worth it - my right leg is so tight that my gait is all screwed up. But even after one visit yesterday I can tell that things are more loose. My ankle is the worst!
Uh, yeah, me too on the cake. Carb loading. Yeah. For my giant run tomorrow morning that will probably be only like 3 miles!! LOL

I cannot WAIT to start doing long runs again!!!!!!
ME TOO.
Quick question - I am thinking about getting some trail shoes. Can they be worn on the road, or is it best not to? Just wondering... there are some Saucony's (my brand) at Academy that feel just like my current Saucony's, but they are trail shoes. Just wondering if I should try them.
I returned my Asics (they were hurting my feet - too narrow for me) and bought some Saucony Grid Excursions. They felt like old friends when I tried them on. And of course two new pairs of running shorts and an astros moisture wicking hat.
Marine - No, I did not like them. they just didn't fit my feet. They were too narrow in the mid-foot and too wide in the heel. I was having to tighten too much to keep the heel from slipping. I'd take them off and the tops of my feet would be all red. I did try different tying techniques to keep the heel from slipping, but nothing worked.

It's just all dependent upon a person's feet. My feet *heart* Saucony's. I was stupid to try something else when I know the Saucony's work.

I am just worried that since these are trail shoes, they'll behave differently than my old ones. I do have custom orthotics, though, and they make plenty of corrections.
I just read some reviews of the shoe I bought and every review was great for regular road running and trail running. So, given that I love Saucony's already and know that they really fit my foot, the trail issue should be no big deal.
I actually have a trail race in March, but I will use these for road running, too.
OMG!! LOL!!! I can't think of anything else to type if I want to check those out online. Take away the apostophe and you have yourself some eye candy.
Sisu - I hope you get good news about your knee!

Batmomm and others that have done Graston - I have another appointment on Monday - will I still be sore then? Given the giant bruise, I am worried that it will hurt way worse next time since the tissue is already sore.
Well, I am off to swim. Good LORD, I am sick of swimming!!!!!!
Hi KKR and Ky.

I swam 25 laps... and then ate half a pizza.

I am exhausted so I am going to bed.

I get to run tomorrow!!!!! I will have to probably do a very short one, but I will just go swimming (cause it's my favorite) afterwards to supplement the lack of mileage.

Night, sweeties!
