I thought maybe we could do a "pre RMAD" pregnancy exercising/running thread since there are a few of us trying to balance life, running/exercising, and pregnancy.

I know for myself I"m just so darn tired lately but running has helped to give me that burst of energy I need.

I ordered a copy of a pregnancy running book from Amazon and I"m waiting for it to get here. whoo hoo for me!

Also my hydration sucks. I need to pump it up because I"m swelling after exercising. It is not cool.

Hi Bikegirl!

I'm not actually preggers, but I will probably be lurking because I am getting married in Feb. and we are thinking about "trying" (aka going off the pill) in Aug/Sept. So I might figure I can grab good tips!!!

Just wanted to say hi!

Welcome! Hopefully others will get here soon as well!

Lurk! Post! Whatever you like! The prep work to getting pregnant is equally as important. Start taking prenatal vitamins now so you get in the habit of it.

BTW I have 2 Boston Terriers.

Well, I'm currently 25 weeks PG and haven't run consistently since August . First it was morning sickness and exhaustion, then it was a lack of energy since I'd taken so much time off. Now it's sciatica. Grr. I'm hoping that I'll just be able to stay as active as possible so that it's not quite so painful after my son is born!

Hey! So glad I saw this thread, only wish I saw it earlier!! I will be 28 weeks on Thursday. I pretty much haven't run a step since I found out I was pregnant, doctor's advice. The first trimester I was a zombie, tired all the time so I didn't do much of anything. But once the 2nd trimester hit, I felt better and got back into a good routine. Lately I have started aqua jogging. A great workout and it really helps reduce swelling.

Looking forward to hearing how the rest of you are managing the balancing act!

Now more than ever, rest time so you don't get sick is way moreimportant!! Hang in there! Hope the house gets well soon and you avoid the brunt of it! Oh and maybe just a simple little walk might be good for you, nothing to strenuous but enough to feel like you did something!!!
