What? The gimp girl is starting the daily workout thread?

I did 45 minutes of pool running this morning. The first 10 minutes were warm-up/trying to figure out the form. I think I got it down all right except maybe my legs still need a little tweaking.

Next was 6 X 2-minute "track sprints"/2 min recovery. Immediately during the sprints my stomach started feeling sick from the flotation belt around my waist. I ended up changing to a life vest which was more cumbersome but didn't bother my stomach (this is also why I can't wear water belts on runs).

Then I cooled down for 10 minutes with easy running.

This was nowhere near as good a workout as land running, but my face got warm, breathing was heavier, and when I took my heart rate it was in the 120-140 range.

I am glad I made it to 5k runner as just the pain and agony of being a miler made me cringe.

I'm never going to catch Mikey, so why even try?

SGH - I feel your pain. I HATE pool running. It's an oxymoron. But it does ensure that you get the workout in and heal at the same time.

A titch over 9 miles with 6x600 metres at 5k pace / 90 secs jog in between. Finished with 2 miles at a strong pace. 1:16:45 or so.

Into the insane crunch of the Pfitz program with 7 weeks to go.

5.4 miles this morning. It was cool and dark, slightly windy. Felt pretty good. My right shin tightened up a little, but I stretched a couple times and it seemed fine. It's been getting tight a lot lately - can't like it!

I can finally walk (almost) without a limp today!

I'll try to get to the gym and put together a miscellaneous rehab/prehab workout tonight.

This morning I was out for my first hill workout. Gotta say that it was kinda fun and different for a change. 4 miles in with 4 hill repeats. Now if it would just get a touch warmer (17 this morning) my morning runs would be great!!

I'll post full details later, but today's run absolutely, positively sucked.

12.5 miles in just under 2 hours. I had planned 16. I got to mile 11, and said to myself "I'm not having fun. I'm going home."

What went wrong? What didn't go wrong? My right hip started hurting, so did my right knee, my left calf, and my stomach was upset from mile 6 on. Add in a couple of bouts with stitching pains, and you get the idea. This run is NOT one of the more memorable runs.

Weather sucked, or blew as the case may be. Sustained from the N at 10 with gusts to 25.

When I was at 11, I was right into the wind, and it was really gusting hard. All those things were bothering me and I said "Screw it, I'm going home."

4.5 or so very hilly miles in less than one lunch hour. Legs felt pretty much recovered from Sunday's long run. I credit a steady diet of chocolate milk and doritos.

Although cold tonight (28F and windy,) I had a fabulous track run.

11 miles total (94 min)
2.5mi warm-up
6mi @ T-pace, 40min total (4x 1.5mi; with 2-3 min recoveries)
2.5mi cool-down

Average T-pace = 6:38

I couldn't be more pleased. I have not run this long of a tempo since this time last year. My training group was running 800s, so it was somewhat a solo run.

With 4 weeks to go to the next race, I'm changing gears a bit and cutting back to one long quality workout per week. My goal is to keep adding distance to the tempo run until I hit 10mi, or break.
