Here's a rough proposal. I'd like to do Route 66. By itself, it's 2400 miles, so not really long enough.<br><br>
We finished in Maine, sohy don't we start there? We could follow the route of the Boston & Maine railroad from Portland to Boston. I think the NYNH&H route then goes from Boston to Albany (working from memory here). We take the NY Central RR to Chicago. From Chicago, we roll on Route 66. After reaching California, we take Route 101 and/or I-5 up to Portland or maybe Seattle. We could certainly visit Vancouver BC and Calgary or perhaps take the Alaska Highway if we need to lengthen out.<br><br>
