<p>This was one of two very very long stairs in France that gave me the willies. The other was enclosed and well, I found out that I had a phobia I never knew I had. I kept checking over my shoulder to see if Gollum was following us. True.</p>

<p>Caranxa Gorge, or the beginnings of what is a several day hike. Just before this was a tunnel that had signs defaced with Grafitti in several languages repeating the refrain "DANGER!!!" We went anyway. The path was 3 feet wide. You can see the cleft on the right hand side that people over the centuries have carved from the rock.</p>
