Thanks everyone. I still have more pics to post up. I am not uploading, my new camera does not want to cooperate with my laptop so the girlfriend has to use her old laptop. It is like the old CH, nuckfuttery.

Looks fun, Mort. If you like that whole sliding down a mountain thing.

Whoa!!!!

You admit that Sierra and Squaw were a little hard packed?

I got off the chair KT-22 or the other one at Squaw and it was sheer ice. I haven't been that scared of skiing/boarding in a looooooong time!

Squaw Valley, for Western States. Unless there is another Squaw Valley?

Well, yes and no. Off of KT-22 on Feb 22nd, it was under 8 inches of fresh powder and moderately, tracked up. When we were there for the Feb trip, it snowed 6+ inches every day. Premium conditions.

On March 7th, I made two runs off of KT - 22. One was down the face near Olympic Lady (named for the women's Olympic downhill course). It wasn't too firm, but it was near lunchtime and things had softened a bit. My 2nd run down KT-22 was a little later in the day, and I went down the east face. The first 20 yards or so were icy due to the wind (and therefore challenging since it's about 50%), but once over that first part, it was soft snow, but fast! Tons of fun!

Love it out there. Wish I was going back again before the snow melts.

Never knew... I'm talking about the one next to Tahoe, as you are.

that's what I have to say about it. I got lots of carving done, and my front leg was wiped at the end of both days. Front leg for hard pack days, back leg for powder days on a board.

yeah, the only reason that I found out about it was from typing squaw valley into weather.com and kept getting forecasts that said it was going to be 70 degrees, and I was like WTF? Then, I mapped it and found out that I was getting the forecast for the other Squaw Valley, not the Olympic Valley, where I wanted to go skiing.
