Are you sleeping in Sudsy? You should since you are on vacation!

Dreary and rainy here today. I won't be going to bootcamp since I have to be at my dd's school at the same time. I think I'll go for a run at some point.

Ron - you take a tick off by grabbing it with tweezers (or your fingers if you can get it) and pulling. It is totally disgusting because they are attached and you really have to pull. I also have a tick remover thingy and looks like a measuring spoon. You don't have ticks out there?

Good morning Sisu! Yes, getting a little extra sleep in the morning.

It's a little gray here but no rain yet so I hope to get a walk in with Tank before it starts. A nice run and workout in the cards for today too.

Speaking of ticks, I'm greatful that Tank is so light in color so I can usually see them crawling on him before they have a chance to latch on. I hate having to yank them off him but he's pretty good about letting me do it.

Enjoy your run!

Made it just in time! Got a nice walk in the woods and made it back to my front door just as the rain started. Saw quite a few turkeys while I was out, man they are getting huge! I should have taken a picture, there was quite a gang of them. Didn't anybody tell them that it's getting close to Thanksgiving?

Morning my running friends. I will work out later today hopefully I can lift and run a little. I lifted yesterday morning and planned on running after work but it didn't work out. I got in a bit of a car accident on the way home. I was completely stopped on the freeway as well as the car behind me but the car behind her wasn't paying attention and hit us. No one was hurt but it will be a pain getting everything fixed.

Susan we probably do have ticks but we don't live by any woodsy areas and it really isn't something we think about. I though you couldn't just pull them off because they would leave part of themselves under your skin?

Paul wild Turkeys sound cool. Can you hunt them?

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a good week! I'm going to get a short run in here in a little bit. I was supposed to be off today, but they asked me to work a short shift, so I am going at 11. I'm sure I'll be working a lot up until Christmas. I think I forgot when I left Idaho Camera that I said I wasn't going to work retail at Christmastime anymore. LOL

Susan-Sorry about the rain. I hope you have a good run. I don't know if there are many ticks around here or not. We have them in Idaho. I remember have some in my head as a child and my grandpa held a lighter to my head to get it out. LOL

Suds-Enjoy your vacation! LOL about the turkeys! They better watch out!!

Glad you are getting some extra rest, Sudsy. You were lucky to miss the rain! I see a ton of turkeys around here - every once in a while there is a "herd" of them in the road and I have to wait for them to cross the road.

Ron - sorry to hear about the car accident! I hope that you can get your car fixed quickly and without too much hassle. I don't know about leaving any part of the tick on the dog or horse - I couldn't really see if I got it all and I didn't worry about that. On a person I would be sure to get the whole tick!

Fer - hope you had a good run today. They must need your expertise this time of year at the camera shop! That image of your grandfather with a lighter to get a tick off you is hilarious! My kids like to watch us burn the ticks we pull off the dogs. haha!

I got a really nice 5.5mi run in after helping out at dd's school. I got out there just as it started raining and about halfway through there was a downpour. A friend of mine even stopped to ask me if I wanted a ride! haha It slowed down after a few minutes and it was pretty warm out so it wasn't bad (Ron - here in Maine 50deg is warm!) All in all a good run!

Does anyone use the Road Runner Sports VIP program? I am in desperate need of a new pair of Newtons and they have the ones I want. My local running store doesn't carry them and will order them but it will take two weeks or more to get them. Newton also takes a long time to ship so I'm thinking of RRS instead. The VIP program has free shipping and a 10% discount and it's $1.99 to sign up for the first year. But, they will eventually charge me $24.99 to renew. Just curious if anyone has used it. I like to support my local running store but can't wait that long.

Susan we use it but I might need to renew mine. I go to the store because it is the closest to my house. I use to go to a local place but it is too far away these days.

Susan-I am not working at the camera store now. I am working at Macy's. It's not the most exciting job in the world, but I get a discount and I can basically just work whenever I want because I am not a permanent employee.

That's nice Fer! I could do a lot of Christmas shopping at Macys! I bet it's convenient to have a flexible schedule :) Every year I think I will look into a seasonal job at LL Bean but I never do it. Maybe next year :)
