Good morning! I did not get up and go to the gym this morning. I woke up at 2am and spent the rest of the night sleeping on and off because I was coughing so much. Didn't work out last night either because dh wasn't home so I was running the kids around all night - ds13 had a 9pm hockey practice. Yuck!

Lee - I hope you feel better soon. Too many sickies going around right now.

Hi Andi and Leembo!

Andi - sounds like you could use a good nights' sleep! I hate that coughing that keeps you up all night. Hope you feel better soon.

Leembo - I'm fighting something like what you have. I bet the rest is good for you although I know how bad it feels not to work out. Hope you are feeling better soon, too!

I'm heading out for a short run soon and then need to do some PT exercises after. Right now I'm procrastinating! I hope the run will help clear out this cough I have.

Hey guys. Sounds like there's been a lot of sick and injured around here. That is a major bummer. This time of year if so hard. Tons of stuff going on. The concerts and recitals are starting, Christmas pageant, all the craziness of Christmas and our party in two weeks. I've been battling problems with our network and the printer not working, and my neck has been really stiff and sore for about a week. Not exactly sure what started it but I've also had difficulty sleeping because of it. But did manage to get a fair amount accomplished on Sunday after Col's brother's fam left. Installed two sets of shelves in Col's sewing space plus another shelf in a kitchen cabinet and put a new faucet in the downstairs bathroom. That was actually a nightmare project that took forever. I couldn't get the drain to stop leaking, had to make multiple trips to HD, etc. Finally I realized that things were out of alignment which was causing multiple leaks. I found a flexible drain and voila, no leaks. I love when things work out.

Actually had a great week of running last week with a pretty peppy long run Sat and 2 nice 7 mile runs Thur and Fri. Ran 7 @ Boston pace on Tues and can't believe I ran a marathon at that pace. Man I've got a long way to go. My brother's friend is supposed to run CIM under my bib Sunday.

We refinanced Tuesday hopefully for the last time. We locked in @ 3.75 and rates are already back up over 4 so it was perfect timing for us. 10 years to go!

Hope everyone that is run down gets recharged. I need to pause this month!

Hi Fer! Keep all the snow, thank you!

Hi Amber! That was the Smuttynose Rock and Roll marathon and 1/2 marathon. Verry flat, beautiful scenery, live band, beer, pizza, ice cream, beer and beer. I'll be there next year, whether it's the 1/2 or full that I do.

Johnny, you are busy as hell, hope you get a break soon. Sounds like you're on the mend, glad to hear that.

That is the marathon I want to do Sudsy! I just hope I will be able to drink and eat after...as you may remember it takes me a few hours to "recover". Hopefully I can get that under control! I think I mentioned this yesterday but a couple of local moms I know ran that marathon and ran a 3:19 which I believe is a PR. Must be a nice course!

JB - you are busy! glad to hear that your running is back on track. I feel like I'm close to being back on track but I need to be super smart about building up my mileage.

Amber - the trails were really nice - not too muddy. I'm sure they are a mess today though since we got all that rain yesterday and last night. I'll probably go check them out again tomorrow.

Sudsy, smuttynose sounds cool. Might have to road trip up for the weekend for that one next year. Are there smutty broads too?

Susan, you and me both. I don't need to re-injure myself. Running every other day seems to be what my body likes best, but it is hard to get the mileage I want on that schedule. Not ready to be running 6 days a week yet, but need to get there by January. Looks like I'll be running in the dark tonight on black ice. Missed my window of opportunity to get out in daylight and it clouded up on me too. But I have a newer 7 mile loop I put together near my house that I really like. A few small hills to keep me challenged, out of major traffic for 90% of the route, and long enough to make me feel like I'm getting something accomplished.

How's everyone's Christmas list? We've picked up a few things. We got Erin and Molly ski club this year as a surprise...I wonder if they wondered why we bought them equip a couple weeks ago...and I also picked them each up a nice new MP3 player with video, so those two won't be getting much else but maybe some clothes and small stuff. Still gotta figure out Maeve.

Have either of you guys tried the Harpoon Cider. Kind of on the fence about it. My brotherinlaw left a 6 behind and I feel obligated to drink it up ;)

John, it's a great race, starts and ends right on the waterfront at Hampton Beach. Worth considering.

Never tried the cider, maybe if I can find a single I will.

Susan, you would rock this course. It's PR friendly!

Afternoon my running friends. I worked out last night and this morning so I will not run tomorrow. The legs is ok but if I start to run faster I can feel it so I will be running slow until it goes away. Otherwise I feel great these days. I am not even going to think about a race for a while. Hopefully I can watch Jennifer run one though.

Just to see who is reading this. Apollo Ono is signing books in Boise tomorrow.

JB - I have not tried the Harpoon Cider. I love their IPA and UFO (and Summer and probably some others) but have never tried the cider. The thought of that does nothing for me. Is it sweet?
