hey everyone!

How was the superbowl?

DH torqued his knee shoveling the roof so he went to bed early talking about going to the hospital and not being able to work...he went to work, so we will see...we cant afford to have him out of work....

I need to repeat week 4 this week--with my crazy week I only ran once--so feeling a little bad about having to repeat it, but it is what it is....

Good morning Amber. I hope dh is ok and can get to work. Do not feel bad about repeating week 4. Sometimes our schedules get in the way and the important thing is to keep doing it and not give up.

I wasn't feeling well last night and ended up falling asleep on the couch after the half time show. I had a migraine and it sucked! I've been fighting them all weekend. Dh had to go in to work early so I could not get to the gym for bootcamp. I am hoping to get there for the evening class after work. I ran 10 and 5 this weekend, and other than needing new shoes desperately, I felt pretty good.

ANDI--great running this weekend, sorry for the headache. I didnt watch the superbowl at all. Hope you can fit the gym in later. I do feel bad for repeating the week, but I had the week from hell last week..so its better then giving up..it week 4 was a huge step up from week 3--so I am sure I can benefit from doing all three runs, thats why I dont just skip to week 5...

Morning my running friends. The weekend was fast and I did get a couple of good work outs in. We were rooting for the Packers but I am not totally sure why. At least it was an entertaining game. I have run 5 days in a row (which is a lot for me right now) so I will probably take a running rest day.

Amber I hope your husband is ok. Just keep moving forward on your work outs we all miss a work out or two every once in a while.

Andi is your son old enough to baby sit for an hour while you go to the gym. My son just turned 13 and I don't mind leaving him with the others for an hour. I guess not early in the morning though.

Ron - Nice job running 5 days in a row. Enjoy your rest day. I do leave the kids alone, but not while they are sleeping. Ds13 and dd10 are such sound sleepers that I don't know if they would even wake up for a smoke detector. I am going to the 5pm class, so I won't miss my workout.

Hi all! I hope you had a good weekend. I am back in Boise, and I watched the super bowl with my parents and my brother and sil. We had a fun evening.

So, now I am embarking on my outdoor running since my gym membership here expired. I just got back from 5 miles. It's 34 degrees, and threatening rain, but it stayed dry fro me while I ran.

Amber-I hope dh's knee is ok. Don't get discouraged over missing your workouts, just stick with it!

Andi-Great job on your weekend mileage. Sorry about your migraine. I hope you're feeling better.

Hi all!

I only watched the first few minutes of the Superbowl and saw one funny Doritos commercial. I just have no interest in it.

I ran 5mi outside this morning and then tried to run another 5-7mi on the TM but only made it to 2.5mi for a total of 7.5mi. My IT band shut me down and there is no way to run through that pain. The good news is that I had an ART appointment today right after my run and it went really well. My chiro is confident that we are on the right track. he told me that he has a good feeling about me running Boston. Maybe he was just saying that because he knows that I am almost out of hope for this injury and he doesn't want me to give up or he knew I was having a really crappy day and wanted to cheer me up. Either way, it was exactly what I needed to hear! My plan is to just cover the time on my training plan by a combination of running, elliptical, arc trainer, and pool running and hope for the best. I think I'm in a funk today because I'm not 100% recovered from whatever virus I had - it really knocked me down.

Amber - hope your dh's knee is ok! I hope this week of running goes well for you. Last week was a tough one all around!

Ron - nice running!

Andi - Nice running over the weekend. I hope you can get to bootcamp class tonight.

Fer - sounds like you had a nice run! 34deg is perfect running weather!

Sisu - I think you can conquer this. Remember how much trouble Gaela had with her it band injury? And she has run lots of marathons since then. Maybe you should contact her.

Andi- I don't remember Gaela having problems with her IT band. I will get in touch with her - thanks!

Ron- the IT band starts at the top of your hip and extends down the outer side of your leg and attaches below the knee. If it's tight it can rub against the bone on the outer part of your knee and cause pain. For me the pain starts after about 60min or running. One cause of IT band syndrome is a leg length difference which I have. Another cause can be running on banked roads which I do also. Unfortunately my shorter leg is on the lower side of the road which has made the issue even worse. All those miles I ran training for Boston last year really caused the issue to set in in my hip and I've been doing a lot of work to try to fix it. So frustrating. It's the kind of pain that stops me - there is no way for me to run through it or I would.
