Happy Monday!!! Hope everyone had a good Halloween. My kids had fun and got lots of candy that I will eat while they are at school today I had a really nice 70min run yesterday and I think I'll do a short run today after helping out at school.

Happy Birthday Sudsy!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you're having a great day and got to sleep in a little bit.

I went to cycle at 6am this morning. I had planned to go to body pump later today but my legs are shot so I think I'll skip it and do some upper body at home. The boys don't have school today (or tomorrow) so I know they'll be happy not going to the gym. Tomorrow we're taking a day trip to DC with a very important stop at the Lego Store.

I know you are all VERY interested in an update on my house.....each morning my non-heated home is a bit cooler. I think we might have heat on Friday assuming the repairs to our duct work go well on Thursday. So far it hasn't been too bad, but it's supposed to be below freezing tonight so we'll see how that goes. I'm loving our gas fireplace- it really takes the edge off.

Sisu- I hear you about the candy. We have so much left over and the kids were energizer bunnies and got more candy than normal this year. Have a good run today!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a good halloween weekend. I got up and worked out this morning. Dh have me my bday present early - we are leaving on my bday for a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean (without kids). I am so very excited.

Today I am the mother of a teenager. YUCK!!

Sisu - We have tons of candy too. I think I will be bringing it to work and leaving it on the front desk. Nice job on the run yesterday!

Jen - I hope you get heat soon. We've only turned it on in the bedrooms so it is quite chilly in my house.

Jen - I hope you get your heat back soon!! Good thing you have that gas fireplace to keep you warm. Good job on getting to cycling and I can imagine that your legs are shot! I've got to find a spin class that fits my schedule because I'd like to replace a day of running with that.

Andi - Holy moly you have a teenager?? Happy birthday to your big kid!! A 5 day cruise to the Caribbean sounds heavenly - what a nice gift! Dh and I were talking about how we want to go away for a long weekend w/o kids but it's such a challenge with no family nearby. Do you have family that can watch the kids for you?

A quick race report.

The race itself was nicely put together and the scenery was beautiful. There were areas that ran along the shore, cranberry bogs and some nice country roads. The down side was the hills. I had a good first half, with my piriformis/hamstring issues painful but bearable. As I got into the hills after mile 11 or so, all the up hill sections forced me into a limp on the way up. The second half of the race was pretty much all hills and as I went on, the limping got worse and made me look like a pirate with a wooden leg. By mile 16 my left hamstring was wasted and my right leg started cramping

up severely trying to drag my body up those hills. At mile 22, I could only shuffle along, stopping to stretch as best possible to keep from knotting up. Now I was along the shore and the cold wind was bringing me into an uncontollable shiver. I made it to mile 23 and I couldn't go any further. I could barely move, I was freezing and had 3 miles left to go. I wound up flagging down a car that was headed to the finish area and had to give up. The woman got me back to the end while I was in the back seat with my legs wrapped up in knots in severe pain. My first DNF.

Oh well, I guess it's time to get myself fixed up and see if I can keep doing this.

As soon as I got to the finish area, I met up with DW and walked right back to the car and headed home. I took a fast shower, got back into the car and went off to the football game. I'll tell you, it was a long walk up those ramps to get to my seat, but it was a great game and a lot of fun. It's funny what a little beer and some Ibuprofen can do for you!

Morning my running friends. I will work out later. The weekend was nice but fast. The games I didn't want to miss were cancelled because of rain and the others played. At least some of the schedules are ending soon.

Susan good job on your run yesterday. Looks like you are coming along fine.

Jen I hope that heat is working soon.

Andi have fun on that cruise. Soory about the teen but happy birthday to your DS.

Happy Birday Paul. Sorry about the race but each race is a learning experience. I am sure you came out of it smarter.

Sounds like you had a good race until all those hills, Paul. You are one tough guy and I'm sorry you had to dnf. I hope you can get this hamstring/piriformis thing fixed. I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite the stairs.

NB - nice to see you! Are you working now?

Ron - hope you are having a good day and enjoy your workout later.

I decided not to run today after all. No reason to push it right now. I just visited our new Trader Joes - the first one in Maine!! Such a treat to not have to drive to MA to stock up.

Jen-I hope your heat gets fixed soon! It could get a little uncomfortable if it's dropping below freezing. Brr!!

Andi-Very exciting about your birthday present! I have never been on a cruise before, but I'm sure it will be lots of fun for you. Enjoy your time with your DH!! And, you don't look old enough to be the mother of a teenager.

I know, I need to make more of an effort to get on here---cause I miss you guys ----looking for somoe part time work, to pay for my horse, but nothing has come along yet. I still have my lil one here most of the time--he goes to pre-k 3 hours 4 days a week--so it makes it hard to find a job without having to pay for daycare.....but I have applied to several online universities for a faculty position.....

Amber-It's been pretty quiet around here. We seem to have lost a lot of our regular posters. I'm not really one to talk, because I'm not on every day, but I've been trying to check in more often. I would really hate to lose touch with everyone here. I know most everyone is on FB, but it's not the same.

Oh, and Amber-Good luck finding a part time job. I really need to be working more than I am. I'm really pushing hard to market and pick up some more photo jobs, but it's awful slow lately. I've been looking and looking for some kind of flexible job that would work around my weird schedule, but it's hard. I'm going to be working as needed at my old job in Boise when I am there, but they don't have a lot of hours for me, either.

Hi Amber - I don't plan on leaving here I was just wondering if we were running out of steam. I will keep coming back here as long as at least one other person is here! I'm looking for a p/t job too and have an interview on Th. It's more hours than I want but I'll go check it out anyway. I'm also going to help dh in his office occasionally - that should be interesting! haha. I'm going to take a class soon, too, and that will take up a bunch of my time. Good luck with the C25k and with your job search! Check in when you can
