Hey all! Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. I tried to go for a run yesterday morning and made it to about 35min before my IT band shut me down I couldn't run anymore. I had to walk the last almost 2mi home. I'm so frustrated and I'm not sure what to do now. I guess I've got to focus on x-training now and hope that I can get past this soon.

Another day off for my kids today :) Have a great day!

Hey Sudsy! Hope you have a good day at work :) Did you run today?

Leembo - enjoy your day at work and your run later. A party sounds like fun! My kids have another day off because of Veteran's day I guess. Not really sure why they needed this day off, too.

Aw freakin balls, just lost my post. Anyway, saw chiro finally. Corrected a small leg length imbalance by rotating my hips back into alignment. Then did a quick ART treatment. Calf has felt pretty good since Sat. Hope to run in this gorgeous sunshine later. Group run tomorrow and then huge leaf raking day.

I rigged up my own "Ghetto" TRX out of parts from home depot last weekend. Cost me about 1/4 of the price of a real TRX and is very heavy duty. I love it because you can do a lot of things that you can do without a TRX, but the added instability of being suspended in the air makes it so much harder to do and gives you a sick workout. Pretty cool. Finally getting some much needed strength into my routine.

Johnny - Glad to hear that you got some help from your ART guy! Having hips out of whack is really common for runners and most of my issues come from that and a structural leg length difference. That ghetto TRX looks like some kind of torture device but I bet you do get a great workout from it! I need to look into something like that because I hate, hate, hate lifting weights! Hope you have a nice run later today and tomorrow. (PS, is that your bike in the background with the tassles on the handlebars?)

LB - you get to have dinner with Fit? How cool! I whole heartedly support your decision to let Elise hang out with your FIL for the day!

lol susan, that tassle bike is actually out of commission. Girls are all too big now. My hybrid is the first bike to the left of the TRX. My roadie is all the way to the left out of the frame. Hoping to get on the road bike Sunday, but school play is this weekend and that will have us busy. Wont get many more semi-warm days after this.

How come so many people are hurting? Such a bummer.

I am at the airport, heading home to my husband today. And, I'm super exciting because my parents are bring the girls down for the week of Thanksgiving. It's always my favorite thing to have all my kiddos in the same place.

I didn't run today, but I can run tomorrow and I'm at 21 miles for the week this week, which is fairly good for me lately. I'm not hurt, I'm just lazy. LOL

Susan-I'm sure you must be so frustrated. I really hope you are able to heal up soon.

Hi everyone. Ditto LB's comment about dinner. I was invited, despite the fact that I have no home training.

I haven't said much because I keep getting derailed and saying I am starting over. So I have been back on the eating right/calorie counting wagon for a few weeks and I have dropped 8 pounds, so feel confident saying that I am back in the groove. I have spent the last couple weeks doing dumb bell work and a couple weeks of HIIT and walking for my cardio. I got my new shoes and once I drop another 5 to 10 pounds feel confident that my knees will tolerate picking back up to 5k again and I will work my way up to maybe 10k in the summer. I may do the half again next December, but we will see about that. That is a long way and a lot of temptations in the future.

Glad to see how well everyone seems, except Sisu. You need to get better.

JB - I am jealous of your garage. I would love to set something like that up, but we have BILLIONS of alien spiders in our garage.

NB, not too hard. Hardest part was turning the eye hook several inches into one of the rafters until it was nice and snug. That was a bit of a bear on top of a rickety step ladder. There's just a million different ways you can work out on it which is what I love, you can do legs, core, arms, upper body, whatever. Anyway, you can support your weight you can turn into a workout. I haven't even added the footstraps yet. That's next. I can send you guys a video link if you want to try rigging one up. I;m too cheap to buy dumbells or a weight bench and DW would just give me grief for taking up space with it. With this thing she just rolls her eyes when I head out to the garage. ;)

DB, you won't be jealous of my garage very long. It is unfinished, unheated and unattached. Which means I have to freeze my arse off if I want to work out. When it snows, I will need to move one of the cars. I do have a space heater than I will bring out when it gets colder, but heating a 20 by 20 garage with no insulation using a space heater is ...well, a joke.
