For me, it's the ball of my left foot. Probably some silly thing I can alter with a different shoe or gait, but I can't help but wonder if it will ultimately be my undoing for an upcoming race.

In my mind, no one trains for a big race without having to step around something, but how do you separate the annoyances from the real injuries?

The miles are coming back to me better than expected. The 40something knees are holding out and I always finish feeling like I can do more, but there is always this one little blemish.

Thoughts?

Is it an ache, or is it a hurty pain? Does it hurt more when you are running or at rest? Have you been properly fitted to a running shoe? How would you describe your footstrike? Are your calves feeling very tight?

For now I would ice the area, do toe scrunch exercises and stretch your calves.

Do you think it could be a morton's neuroma? I know some people cuts holes in their insole to relieve some pressure on that area of the foot.
