Good morning all; it's a scheduled rest day for me today. My legs are tight from yesterday's workout, but it felt great to get in a good run. I was out late last night for my Board meeting and I'm very tired this morning. A hot cup of Double D coffee will help me get moving.

I belatedly read an interesting NYT article about exercising to music at http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/10/fa...10fitness.html this morning. I got a couple of good ideas about songs to download to my ipod.

Have a great day ~ even if it's raining.

Good morning guys & gals,

We had a dusting of snow last night and it turned into a windy rain this morning...what a mess.

8.08 miles of hills @ 9:15 pace.

I have to remember that it's a bad idea to wear heavy cotton socks when running is this type of weather...at the end of my run my feet were sloshing inside my wet socks, that hot shower never felt so good as it did today

I'm within spitting distance of Sacramento (well, a two hour drive .... that would be one "magic loogie" ) and though I'm not planning on running CIM, I'd be up for attending any Boomer festivities that ensue.

No snow, but no run either for me today. An hour of yoga instead.

Have a great day, friends

One more day of heavy load at work for me today and then let the vacation fun begging!!!
Rest day today for me, I may do some stretches and push-up to help the wimmin's score a bit more before I leave to go down south. I am going to miss not having internet connections for one whole month, but it may be just as well since I will have so much to do anyway.

Butterfly hugs for RESTing to Susan, hup and millbot, dromary.

Good morning and Happy Rest Days everyone! After reading all the weather reports, I'm embarrassed.

Last night I went running with the club and kept pace with Ileneforward. It was rather chilly and windy by So. Cal. standards (40 something deg F). Left my sweatshirt on the whole 4 miles! For once I agreed with Ilene, that it was rather cold!

Rest day for today too

millbot, I hope your ankle gets better soon.

Going to run now and it's relatively cold here in CC. Got on running tights and windbreaker w/ gloves and ear muff.

I have admired Wes Santee since I read The Perfect Mile. He got a raw deal from the AAU.

Have you ever met him?

Good morning Boomers,

I'm <hack-cough-hack> home from work today, trying to beat this chest cold. So no running for me. This really puts a damper on my training for Boston. I'm getting anxious... Good runs to all of you healthy enough for it, lucky bums.

Hawaii sounds soooo good!

Nice shoe ksrunr.

Feel better soon Irunmike!

I did 17 of the most boring, sproinkless miles I've ever run. My brain kept telling my legs to move but they wouldn't listen! I'm always a wee bit annoyed when people say to me, "I saw you jogging today". I think to myself, WHAT?? Jogging?? I don't "jog", I run! Well, today I lived up to that description.

The only good thing about todays run was that I was able to do it (always grateful about that! ) and that it is DONE!!!

Better runs to you all!

We got 10" of snow last night... and it's still coming down!! Forecast was for "flurries." Hmmm, that's one heckuva flurry if you ask me! My car dragged it's belly down our driveway and road till we reached the main road, then I followed other tracks all the way to work. No plows in sight... but the campus was all cleared already (except the parking lot, go figure). Glad I got my hilly run done last night!

Rest day today, but I'll be cleaning the house up a bit and packing tonight.

Gin, way to go on toughing out those 17 miles. Sometimes the best thing about a run is that it's done with.

TomWhite, how's Pickles doing?

Get better, irunmike!

Erka, glad you got your run in too. I was telling the kiddos about the warm weather in Carlsbad this morning as I drove them to school. It was 23 and windy here, but nothing like your weather. The ungrateful brats complained that the water will be cold there. I've gotten a little compulsive about organizing travel info. Usually I have a big stack of papers with hotel, flight info, etc. or I just wing it like I did in Bend. Now I have several labeled folders for hotel, airline...but there are more of us going than usual so it makes sense, right? I am the rationalization King.

I was going to run now, on my lunch break but have a meeting at 1:00, so I'll take off early instead and might brave the cool temps because the sun is out and the wind is supposed to die down a little. The only problem with short taper runs in cool weather is that by the time you're warmed up, you're done.

I have a Quality workout of some sort at lunchtime today. Am leaning toward 5x1km cruise [email protected]:45 with 60s rest and enough WU/CD to pad it to about an hour. That should blow out any cobwebs! Then over to my new client's offices for the rest of the day. (Anticipation/Dread in the usual mixture).

nothing for me today. It sucks not having a car. DH had to drive me to work and will come pick me up. I hope my car is done by tomorrow so I can go the gym on my lunch hour.
