Anthony - Very nice report! Looks like a great place to run. I'm hoping to run the 100M in 2009. We'll see on that. Just shy of 10hrs is a great effort/time. Keep at it and you will run sub10. Good luck to you!
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to meet any of the Kickrunners at Rocky. Had a really good race and ran a 32 minute PR, finishing in 7:10 for the 50-miler. The weather was great (warm, not freezing cold!), the course couldn't have been in better condition, and the volunteers were AWESOME as always. I highly recommend this race, especially for those attempting their first 100 - it is VERY runner-friendly. Congrats to all who were there.

You ever see that V8 Commercial where the waiter slaps the guy in the head for not eating his vegetables?

Damn dude... you came to Texas and you ate at chain restaurants.... WTF! That's so friggin sad... sheesh, live a little!

Nice job on the race, though!

I know. Pretty sad, huh. That's what I get for spending less then 48 hours. Next year I'll come back and run the 100 with Merigayle and crunningman, and make sure to eat some real Texas cooking.

Great race report. I love reading everyone's reports from any race, really. The down side is that I have yet to run my first ultra (I am signed up for 2 so far int he next year) and reading your report makes me want to run out and do one right away...I tend to be overly ambitious. But I guess I only have about 5 months left and then I will be prepared.

Maybe I will be able to race RR next year!!!

Congratulations to everyone.

um, that's cause you don't know the area!

Hey, I'm no 100 guy, yet, but I've done some loops on that course. I know the area very well... in any direction!

Still, being honest, after traveling so far and attempting to do so many miles I can't really blame you guys for not wanting to "experiment" with the local cuisine. I've got so many food issues now, I'd probably have done the same thing.

Meredith,
We ate at the Texan Cafe and a great Mex resturant..but probably not vegan/or vegetarian friendly.
Anthony, sorry I missed you. And Robo, you were running way too fast to meet me.
I was the fat chick in the all pink outfit. Smiling until around mile 74, when the wheels fell off.
