<p>Used to eat oatmeal before. But since I can't eat grains any more I have mashed butternut squash (baked or steamed), or apple sauce, or a freckly banana. (less ripe bananas can cause issues.) </p>

<p>I don't do the 2-4 hour ahead thing though. I can eat any of those things a half hour before the race and be fine. Sometimes I'll have a banana or apple sauce cup during a race without issue.</p>
