Morning peeps.

Storm clouds moving in here this morning, my landlady just txted me to see if I'd left the windows open (I did.) My friend who is staying with me for the month of June is home, but I think he's still asleep...so I don't know what to do. I told her if it gets bad, to knock, then just come in and close the windows.

I got hit in the face with a softball during the game last night...I'm fine but I was totally flustered by it. I did end up getting someone out on the next play, so it wasn't all bad. I also got a hit at every up, even if I was out before I got on base. Whatever, it's just for fun. :)

I can't believe it's June.

I was possibly going to have a drink with FV last night, since I haven't seen him in a week (he was away for the weekend) but he got caught up in office work. Might try for tonight, but he's got a meeting and I have Dewey Drink...so it'll be later if at all.

Hey, everyone. I'm playing hooky today. Got an oil change and check-up on the car, read some and then went to lunch with a friend. I think a nap is in order soon.

Kath, to answer your question of yesterday, I am not officially diabetic. However, while the exercise study I'm in has helped my cholesterol and triglycerides, my triglycerides are still too high and my glucose levels suggested that I'm moved into a a new risk category for developing diabetes. I now have an increased likelihood of developing diabetes in the next five years. So, I'm trying to move toward a diabetic diet so that I can lower that risk. It probably didn't help that I just ate a Blizzard-esque treat from the local custard place, but it's all about the baby steps.

I'm going to try to work on a baby bib this afternoon; I just cannot seem to finish this project. I want it off my plate!

Have a good one, folks!

Wow, not much fun today, eh? It's raining like it's February here, so there's not much of that, at least in the outdoors.

Did manage to enjoyed a whole-grain apple roll this morning from a Basque bakery this morning - pretty delish. Then I headed to my followup appointment with the doc, which went well - looks like it's the incision is healing up okay, and he cleared me to start some light running and aerobic activity.

Good for you for being proactive!

One thought I had as I read your post about the lack of fat/sugar is just because it's different doesn't mean it isn't as good or satisfying. Yah, it's a lifestyle change, and I'm not belittling the effort required at all. I just want to point out that we cook a number of 'fake' things for me that Dh (the king of crap eating) prefers to the original.

I just took a break from scrubbing the bath tub to eat roasted Brussels sprouts & yeah it's 11:30 here. No wonder I can't ever wake up early in the mornings
