Ok, I need some quick help- I have to go to a baby shower after work today. It starts at 4:15, but I am tutoring first from 4:00-5 (because tomorrow is the midterm and he has to do it tonight...) Then I planned on going to the shower since it's right next to my house. It lasts till 6:15. Ok. Here's the problem. I've been so overwhelmed with stuff going on, that I forgot about it this weekend and haven't gotten the gift yet!! And she's registered at Babies R Us. Which they have at the mall, but that is past my house and in 5:00 traffic, I *might* make it back by 6 for the shower after tutoring.... What do I do?! I can stop at the grocery store (across the street from my house) for the card.... Normally I give books, or I'd give her a BRU gift card since that's where she's registered.... So?!?! HELP!<br><br>

Buy her a giftcard online. If its a card it doesnt really matter if its even BRU, Target, or any other store with baby stuff should be fine. Also, pick up some diapers along with the card. Every baby shower I have been to they get all excited about getting diapers (I suppose because they are expensive).

You can order something online and write in the card "You will be receiving _____" Then lie about how it was on backorder.

card and 2 little gift bags: 1 with diapers, for the baby; 1 with chocolates and flowers - for the mom to be.

I agree with the suggestion of buying something online and mention it in the card. You don't even have to fib about it being on back order or anything - it'll get there when it gets there. And bring diapers with the card. Diapers will definitely be used.
