<p>I'm not talking Rush either!</p>
<p> </p>
<p>One sample <a href="http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine-archive/2010/july/food/protein-drinks/whats-in-your-protein-drink/index.htm" target="_blank">Consumer Reports</a> tested had <span><span>arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury.  The report says drinking three servings per day (!) will take you over the maximum limit.  They say three servings a day is not uncommon.  I wonder if they mean body builders.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span><span>In this <a href="http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/30/phys-ed-what-exercise-science-doesnt-know-about-women/" target="_blank">study</a>, women showed "no clear benefit from protein during recovery</span></span>."</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I've been putting the stuff in post-run smoothies.  I'll stop now.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Good news ... for women runners?  <a href="http://www.jissn.com/content/5/1/1" target="_blank">FAT</a>! </p>

<p>One of the guys I run with frequently is a body builder and was drinking that many protein drinks a day until our other running partner told him about the Consumer Reports article.  He has now stopped.  Yay!</p>
