So...what are giving? What are you hoping to get?

Mr jebba wants a watch. He picked it out, and it's in the amazon cart ready to be purchased. I can't think of anything I want, but I'd better come up with something to make it easier on him.

Kids get 3 gifts each. They'll each get another 3 or so gifts from family, so I think that's plenty. Miss Sunshine really, really wants a Nintendo DS, so I think we're going to bite the bullet and get her one. She's also getting a framed photo of on of her heroes, Matthew Henson (he helped discover the North Pole). Haven't picked the 3rd gift yet. She wants earrings (grandma can get those), a microscope (oma can get that), stuffed monkeys and a remote controlled car.

Easy wants a Captain America costume, a barbie car sized Finn McMissile (from Cars 2), and a "puppy doll."

Haven't figured out what the nieces and nephews are getting. The teens get gift cards. But I've got 2 almost 12 year old girls, one almost 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy to buy for.

Wow. Even when I think I am simplifying, it adds up.

And of course I need to shop for our Angel Tree person. It's an older woman who wants knee highs and undergarments and things like that. It should be the easiest shopping I do.

Ugh, is it time to shop? (I hate shopping).

The boys are each getting a new hoodie and beanie from their favorite colleges.

JR wants a guitar and golf clubs... both are NOT going to happen, just haven't decided which one will happen (probably the guitar). That will be his only other gift.

Jax wants a LSU pillow-pet. MW3 and Forza 4. That's likely to be it for him as well.

They both also get to choose a sports camp in the summer. JR will probably go to either IU or Earlham's shooting camp. Jax will probably goto UC's football camp. He wants to go to LSU, but.... I'm not OK with him at an overnight camp just yet.

I don't want anything. I didn't last year either. I just really want my boys to have a good Christmas, that's all. Basically, my dad babysits for me while I work. That's my Christmas present each year... it's a good one!

I don't enjoy the shopping and try to pick up a few things here and there over the summer and fall. DH i s getting some slippers, alpaca wool inserts for his boots, and a history book I saw him drooling over one day at Borders ( I found it on sale when they closed! )

DD wants Itune cards, and the new Harry Potter Scene it game.. but that is over $50 ( Yikes ) so that may not be happening. I have several pairs of earrings for her. She has already bought some clothes and I gave her CHS fleece mittens at the last football game and said Merry Christmas !

DS wants a Harley Davidson t-shirt.. but those are licensed and $24 so I will keep looking at Goodwill and ebay for his size. He has not finished his list yet ... so he may not get much if he doesn't get with it ! I also have a bunch of ghost story books ( LNew condition - Swap shop find!)

The teacher I work with is getting a fleece neck gaiter and a heavy duty electrical cord - This is for the hidden microwave he has in the class on a regular ext. cord ... which gets very very hot when used....!

I made jam and apple butter for acquaintances and will put some chocolate in some holiday ceramics for some other friends ( Swap shop again on the dishes)

We just bought a "new to us" used car for DS to drive... insurance, car and gas ought to be enough but won't!

Me ? I want a gift certificate for a massage, and bottle of my favorite cologne, Vanilla Musk ( every year !)

Now that the Trolls are adults, and are not home for the holidays, we just write 'em a check.
They need the $ and know what fun toys or necessary supplies to get.

My mom and mil (both 86) dont need any more STUFF; instead we get them services:
Beauty salon
Massages
Pedicures
Car washes
Gift cards to the old lady malls
Flower shops...getting fresh cut flowers is a joy for my MIL

I want to get MIL lawn service (my mom already has it), but not sure if she will be okay with that.
She is a nervous nelly, and is wary of strangers [even bonded ones] on her property.
Heaven forbid if they are non-Caucasian

DH and Sissy's hubby are both getting snowshoes from us. No discussion, we're just doing it.
We bought them at rei, and know the guys will enjoy getting out at the property this winter.

Sis and I get each other gift cards.
We only exchange because our mom would get all bent out of shape if we just blew it off.

We'd both REALLY like a bobcat, front end loader, or brush clearing machines....some women like jewelry, but we like mower, rototillers, and chainsaws!

I donate to the humane society in my dad's name each year.
I drop school supplies off at the local Boys and Girls Club.
Due to low iron, It has been two years since I've donated blood...the gift that keeps giving...so I need to get out and do that if I boost up iron intake.
I like the angel tree idea, jebba. I think we have one in a Madison mall, so I'll go check it out.

Well, my azz is broke.

So, here's my solution:

I'll give homemade coupons, like broke-azz children do, like for "free hugs" and "breakfast in bed."

But my coupons will be for "morning snarls" and "judgmental judginess of lifestyle choices."

The grandbaby gets fun toy stuff..... of course! (its a grandmas job, right?)

Everyone else gets visa gift cards. I know some think thats tacky, but in the past, we bought real gifts and the postage for mailing them cost darn near as much as the gift inside. That was the last year we mailed gifts. Actually they all like it that way. They can get what they want, and we dont have to spring to mail stuff. Win/win!

Oh, hubby and I dont buy for each other.

Soo.. other then Christmas cards... I am done! :)
