prepping for my first 50

I'm doing the Goofy Challenge in Jan and in May I'm doing my first 50 miler. How do I go about getting ready for the 50 miler after Goofy. I usually take a few days off after an event but, I'm not sure how I go about getting back on track. Do I take a few weeks of just easy runs or do I jump right back into training? What kind of long runs would you do after Goofy? Plus, I'm see there is a trail half/marathon two weeks prior to the 50 miler. Would you guys consider this for training purposes? Currently I'm up to 60 miles a week and feeling good!

I'm doing Ice Age. I guess I was just wondering how to jump back in after Goofy since it's 16 weeks out from IA. I did print off the Runners World training program and looked it over last night. I'm going to tweak it a bit. I was think ing the half also just because its so close but that it would be a good training run.
Orange Shorts, I wish I could join you on Sunday but I have a 20 miler scheduled for Saturday at Kensington. I would be interested in catching up with you guys one of these days but, it may have to wait until after Christmas. I really, really wnat to get to the poto I'm really missing it!!!!
COOOOOOL!!!! I love that place! Who is putting it on? I really wanted to do the FA on New Years but, it's way too close to Goofy. Like I said, once I get through this next race I can get back on the trails.
