Just throwing some ideas out there to get the ball rolling early. Here are some marathons that I've seen people mention in the daily thread, plus I added a few others that I have on my list to do some day. Does anyone have any comments on any of these? Any others to add? Anyone want to start trying to whittle the list down for sites for a possible meet-up?

Napa Valley Marathon, Mar 2 (FM, 5k)
L.A. Might I suggest you put another country on your list of accomplishments.

Ottawa National Capital Marathon.
http://www.ncm.ca/

There is something for everyone here. Full. Half. 10K. 5K. walks and fun runs. 30 thousand people participated last year (i think)

I'll be doing the half for sure...

Boston would be by far the easiest for me to attend.

Aside from that...whichever has the easiest combination of air/hotel access...

Presuming that I go.

Due to work related things, I'm planning on Grandma's in Duluth.

For those of you who like to knock off states, the Ottawa Marathon is a chance to drop not one but two provinces off the lists since it goes from Ontario then into Quebec and back again.

It's a beautiful scenic course too. You'll see all the main attractions.

Thanks!

Anything before April 15 will be out for me. Not that you all HAVE to plan around my schedule. . .but I'm fun and you'd miss me if I weren't able to be there. . .

Not a bad idea.

I will try to keep the original post updated to include new suggestions (I just added Eugene). And once I get time, I'll try to search for and include alternate race info as well..

Nice suggestion LL...unfortunately wrong time of the year for me. Would love to go back and run it though - used to do long runs on a significant portion of the course.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the Eugene race I wanted to do it.

How can one pass up the opportunity to run where legends have!

Bob,

Another suggestion, though you certainly don't have to take it

If you'd like, once you edit your original post to include the different races, perhaps include the link to the race website. I figure most of us would like to check out the details of the events at some point, and it would be spiffy to have the info all in one spot.
