After the Badgers steal defeat from the jaws of victory back a few weeks ago the reverse happened last night.

My goodness that was an exciting ending.

I hope Porty didn't have a heart attack when it looked like all was lost.

Now they get to play Oregon in the Rose Bowl and that one should be loads of fun to watch.

Jc,
I was so jazzed after the game that I couldn't sleep at all.

however......

Playing the wicked fast Ducks will be teh suk. Oy!

We have a sieves for defenses and special teams...not gonna be pretty. I also hope they do extra cardio conditioning work to keep up with the hurry-up offense of Oregon.

Only hope is to keep possession and grind it out on the clock with our big eaters.

And finally, I seriously need to challenge a 59 year old (yeah, I'm old) female Duck fan to match me in full pushups...Heck if the mascots can do 'em, so can we!

I love them Duckies, but fortunately, being 61, I don't qualify for your pushup challenge. I'd be fine as long as the Ducks were held to a field goal.

BTW the Ducks were down near the very bottom in time of possession. Personally I don't think there is much more demoralizing than grinding out a 6 minute drive and then have the other team score in 23 seconds...and get the 2 point conversion.

Should be great fun to watch...two fun teams...two more than LSU vs Bama...I see it as around 44-35.

Being two years too young, of the wrong gender, and so out of shape that that many push-ups would actually be dangerous, I am fortunately unable to take porty's challenge. Otherwise I'd be all over it - having grown up six miles north by northwest of Autzen Stadium.

I can say that even though I'm going to be rooting for the Ducks, I could live with a Wisconsin victory. The Badgers are a lot like Oregon in that both are so new to being so highly ranked that they still look at it as an honor. There are too many schools out there that feel like they have an automatic right to be in the top ten even when they're having an off year (or decade, or more), and won't hesitate to let everyone know how they feel.

And now for some trivia. Autzen Stadium was built when I was in high school, and was originally intended to house a minor league semi-pro football team. The team (and maybe even the entire league - I can't remember) folded before they every got to use the place, so Oregon took it over. The first football game played there, though, was a high school game (Oregon rented the stadium out to the Eugene School District). My high school was the visiting team in that game. (I did not play football, and at the time didn't make it to any of our road games - even though it was closer to my house than my school's home field would have been.)

I'm pretty sure I'll be unable to keep up with the mascots...even though Bucky wears a 35 pound head...by the middle of the second quarter.

Oregon will spread our defense like butter on toast. It won't be pretty.
Badger O-line (hopefully) will pancake block the speed outta some of the Ducks. (I repeat: hopefully)

When I went to the rose bowl in 94, the LA papers were laughing their asses off at the Cheesehead Team being fat, and slow.
Meh. So we just went ahead and beat UCLA anyway....then went out for more beer.
It was fun to read the print media eating crow the next day.

I don't think we can beat the Ducks. So sad to have to say that.
Oregon's offensive speed + Wisconsin's SIEVE defense and special teams = duck victory

Hope I'm wrong.

....off to work on my pushups....

Ps:

Monteeeeeeee Ball will come in fifth in the final Heisman voting. But the kid is SO humble, and cute and feels "aw shucks" about getting the invite to NY.

He said he just wants to feed off the vibes of the other great players sitting there with him.

I'm just happy there are some good games where there is likely to be more than a field goal scored.

My poor Boise State Broncos got a total screwing this year. They should be in the Sugar Bowl, but of course there is more money in having Michigan there.

That's pro football for ya.
