If the silly Travian people can have such a long thread, we should easily be able to get a poker one going. Who plays? What do you play? Where do you play? How have you been doing?

We should get a kickrunners tourney going if there are enough of you out there!

My granparents taught me as well. 5 card draw, stud, 7 card stud, baseball, Chicago, hold 'em, man or mouse, guts, and acey/deucey.

Acey/deucey is the game from HELL. We played this the day before my buddies wedding as we were setting up the reception hall. $500.00 in the pot, he gets a deuce and a king. He pots it and a king is flipped up. For those of you that have never played this game, a pot bet means his bet was equal to the pot ($500.00) and since the card flipped up was not between his two cards he lost. The ass kicker is that since it matched one of his two cards, he had to double his bet ($1000.00). I hate this game, but am inexplicably drawn to it. GAH!

I play hold 'em. I play on pokerstars when I play online. We try to get games together on a regular basis. We love going to vegas.

I play on Stars myself. Mostly the micro/low stakes tournies. I've been taking shots at some of the WSOP satellites too lately. I like live a lot better than online, but online is cheaper & more convenient. I'm definitely a better live player though. Stars name is Pknight212

My SO and I have been playing every Tuesday night for the last couple of months. I don't do very well, but it's fun. We try to play new games (we have a book of types of poker games, as well as other card games) and it's all low ante, etc.

I play Hold "em every Friday night in local tournaments. I just started playing at the Hard Rock Casino down here in small stakes games as well ( $1 / $2 no limit). I am not sure which I like better. They are very different strategies. I do want to learn the strategies of the other games. I can play them - but I don't totally understand the betting yet.

I am always thinking along those lines whenever I tell someone it's "Poker Night"

I think I'm remembering Lonesome Dove when I think that.

as far as live poker goes, I sometimes go to foxwoods and play the daily tournies there. $100 buyin, usually around 200 or so entrants....I actually won it once and scored some decent change, so that was fun. There's also a little place up in NH that i go to sometimes....mostly regulars, and mostly bad regulars, so I've done alright up there too. I think they're starting world series qualifiers soon, so i may be going back.

I rarely play cash games live, I'm more about the competition than the money. I've actually heard that there's a strong correlation between serious runners and playing poker, quite possibly for that reason.
