I'm just posting this message so that the newcomers to the site who have joined the 30's Club and the Masters arrivees, are aware that we have a get together planned for the weekend of the Philadelphia Marathon. There is a post on The Race Fora, and anyone who might be in town that weekend will be most welcome - I look forward to seeing old friends, and making new ones.<br><br>

Saturday will be the 18th, 3 months til Philly and I'm getting ever closer on squeezing the trigger and putting my entry in. If that doesn't happen, it's still quite likely to happen very soon because early September is when they jack up the prices again, so my attitude of cheap will likely spur me on.

Just booked a room in Philly at the HOLIDAY INN HISTORIC DISTRICT. Anyone else staying there?

Jill, we are staying at the Sofitel, but I stayed at the Holiday Inn back in 2005. It's a nice hotel, but you will need a taxi to get to the race start. Its in a great location for site seeing as it says, it's in teh historic district. Which nights are you staying? We arrive Friday, thru to Monday.<br><br>

DH and I will be arriving Saturday sometime. We only live 45 minutes north of the city. Hi everyone! I am running the full marathon at Philly. This will be my second marathon and I'm very excited about it!<br><br>
Has anyone ever used a pace team? I'm running this marathon w/o my running partner/friend and I thought it might be fun to run with a group.

Im with ya there <b>Nettie</b> i tried to run with a pace team in my 1st HM, i wound up losing the group after a while and never caught back up <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">. At least i didnt get passed by the next pace group <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Very Happy">
