I know it's early with some 6 months still to go, but I though I might as well start a thread for the Marathon this year.

I have managed to get to Philly twice, with the intention both times on running the marathon well. In 2001, I made it over with the Kick Crew and we had a blast of a time, although my run didn't go too well, as I had to drop out at Mile 14 with a trapped nerve in my back, having gone through the half in 1:35....

In 2005 I booked the flights, entered the race, made the hotel reservations, did the training, and went and injured myself four weeks before the event - meaning there was no way I could manage 26 miles. Given I was there, I dragged myself around the 8K race, and vowed that it would be third time lucky and that I would return before I was 50 and complete the full distance.

So, this year, I am coming. I will be totally prepared and focused on this race, and whilst my first goal is to complete the course - my main goal will be to do so in 3:30 - an ambitious target seeing as I haven't been anywhere near this time since 2001, but one I am capable of, if I put my mind to it, and my body to the roads.

So, who else will be joining me in Philadelphia, either to run, or to volunteer or even cheer us on? Training plans and the ups and downs of progress can be recorded here, not to mention hotels and festivities we can share together.
