Penn State Invitational results. (6k) Guelph women were 9th of 25 teams. Lindsay Carson came second again, this time within 3 seconds of the winner. Jen was 136 of 278 runners at 23:31. She said it was a tough hilly course compared to Stanford, but she gave it everything she had and sprinted uphill at the end to move up a few places. That'sa my girl!!

Lindsay Carson girlies all the men on the Guelph team all by herself. She won the Canadian Junior 1500 and 3000 last summer. Her 1500 PB is in the 4:15 range I believe.

As for my daughter....I think she is tired after her first season. Provincial championships are coming up and she will not likely be picked to run, as only the top 7 are picked and she is around 9th or 10th. That means she won't run in the nationals in November either. So her season will be done next weekend, although training starts pretty soon for spring track season. She had no base due to an injury last June that kept her off her feet until mid August. So she had little or no base upon which to build a solid race season. She feels lucky to be on that team, as there are 5 other rookies on the team who were faster than her at her HS finals last year.
