Okay, so it's not so much a race as a giant movin' party, but I figured I'd report here anyways.

This was my 8th Peachtree Road Race.

I woke up late, so was driving in later than normal--- MARTA was packed! When I saw the huge line to get tokens, I walked up to the entry doors and scammed my way in. Sorry, MARTA! They let me through... I got on the train, and hear my name. It was Tithers and Mr. Tithers! I sit down, talk to them, and the guy sitting next to me, who was very friendly, although nameless.
I hung around with Tithers.. she is, as you may or may not know, a total social butterfly. As we go into the time group 2 coral, she sees her good friend BlackSpiderman. Get a couple pics (will post later). Then, she sees another girl she knows... and then another. We started at the very back of Time Group 2... took us a bit to cross the start line!
I run with Sherry for the first mile and a half for the company (As I said, party, not a race-- way more fun with company!) but lose her when I stop to beg for a Moe's t-shirt. Took over a minute for them to give me one--- meany-heads!
I look after I get my t-shirt, but I don't see Tithers anywhere. I look behind me, no. I speed up faster than we were going and run ahead... no shot. (Of course, I have often passed by people I know without noticing; I'm not too observant, I suppose.) So, I settle back down and keep running.
Got another t-shirt from Smoothie King. This one I think will fit. They threw me a small last year.
It seemed like there was less free stuff this year. Maybe I just missed it.
I missed getting blessed this year because I wasn't paying attention and was on the wrong side of the street.
Got cussed at when I accidentally dropped my stuff. Jeez, chill man. If this is as fast as you can go, the two seconds it took to step OVER my stuff, is not going to cause some huge deal. It's not like I intentionally threw it in your way.

Took it easy. Just sang along with songs, clapped hands with the little kids lining the street, tried to get free things, and cheered at the mile markers and hilltops.

The clock said 1:11 when I crossed it. There's no way that's the t-shirt clock time... My watch said 8:43 when I thought to look at it. I'm not sure what time we started the race. Accidentally stopped my timer looking at the clock feature early in the race, or I'd know more. I'm sure it's slow-- I took it really easy.

Hung around after the race at the C balloon, but didn't see Tithers. Left and went for a little speedwalk around the park for about half an hour to loosen the legs, came back, and still didn't see her. Left to find MARTA, a bit nervous since last year I walked 7 miles, lost, searching for MARTA. DIdn't get lost this year, but it did take another half hour walking (and I was walking fairly fast,. Probably to the chagrin of the slow-pokes around me I brushed by-- I have no crowd etiquette. I mean, I didn't push anyone out of my way... but I didn't care if we touched or give any room to anyone. I don't LIKE walking like I'm cattle.) to find the station.

And now I'm home. The end.
