I have had other knee issues, not this one. Myofascial release massage, acupuncture, ice, and rest helped.

I have this. I went to a PT and was told that I have an imbalance between my quad muscles which causes the knee to slide laterally. If this is the cause of your p.s. then there are some pt exercises that can alleviate the issue - all findable on the net. I also wear a strap when I run if it is getting sore.

I have a "brace" called a Hely-Weber<br><br><a href="http://www.kneesupport.co.uk/hw/shields_knee.htm" target="_blank">http://www.kneesupport.co.uk/hw/shields_knee.htm</a><br><br>
That keeps my kneecap from moving. It's a little restrictive (for bending the knee), but it works.<br><br>
The worst part? if you frequently run in the daytime, you get some really odd tan-lines.
