I found a recipe to make fresh pasta but I don't have a pasta roller.

Is it worth investing in? Or can I do without to at least try it out? Can anyone recommend one to buy?

I'm trying to work my budget and my food lifestyle a little better and pasta is always a hit with the kiddos!

TIA!

When I was a child my dad used just a rolling pin for a few years making pasta a few times a year, then he bought a roller. He used that a few years and then bought a pizzelle iron as he likes making pizzelles a lot more than making pasta. Long story short, I'd try using a rolling pin at first to see if everyone likes the taste and texture of fresh pasta before buying a roller.

If you have a kitchen aid mixer, they sell a pasta roller attachment. DW has that, and it seems to work pretty well. Though, as JamesV mentioned, a rolling pin and a butter knife would probably suffice for trying out a recipe. DW still does that sometimes...especially for noodles going into soup.
