They are starting to organize the pace bunnies for this year's Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10 km, and they are looking for volunteers. Most of the times are still open. It is a lot of fun to do. This will be my third straight Ottawa marathon pace bunny. Last year Jean Chretien was along the route cheering on runners.

You will receive free entry to the event, a free Running tech tee(a wee bit ugly but definitely one that people notice), and a one of a kind bunny hat! If this sounds like something that you are interested in then please contact Meaghan Hanley at [email protected]

Three year ago, I was heading for a 3:28 photofinish when a bunch of people passed me about 1.5 km befor the end. It was the 3:30 pace bunny. But suddenly, the whole bunch started walking and I passed them. So, that means that the 3:30 pace bunny is doing the 10:1 thing.

Wow, that's surprising. I thought they just ran the whole way. It's also a bit unusual that they walked within the last couple kilometers. When I was a bunny, ditched the 10:1's once we hit the last 2K. Don't tell the Running Room.

This happened to me in 2007. I was headed for a 3:30-3:32 finish and was caught with a few KM to go by the 3:30 group. They passed me and then I passed them back and then they passed me again and I ended up with 3:31:XX.

Two per time slot that is. For the marathon, I think a new bunny takes the place of the other at the half mark, so the bunny is in better shape to do the race.

Canalrunner, I luv that Friendly Giant avatar. Bring back very old childhood memories as I was watching the show just to see the giraffe popping up.

Actually I think they are going to have two bunnies running the whole distance...at least that is my understanding (and I am the 4:30 bunny) Splitting the bunny duties might be a good idea at 3 hr--3:30 to ensure a consistent second half split but unlikely needed beyond that.

Thanks--I had one of the castle going for awhile. I always waited to see the cow jump over the moon at the end. Is your Doggie Daddy? I am having flashbacks.
