How goes the country today in light of all things Macca?
I've just read some of the judges statement and WOW! It seems he did not care for Heather all that much, I don't know that an American judge (short of Judge Judy) would call someone an outright liar. That's fabulous!

“The husband’s evidence was, in my judgment, balanced. He expressed himself moderately though at times with justifiable irritation, if not anger. He was consistent, accurate and honest.
“But I regret to have to say I cannot say the same about the wife’s evidence. Having watched and listened to her give evidence, having studied the documents, and having given in her favour every allowance for the enormous strain she must have been under (and in conducting her own case) I am driven to the conclusion that much of her evidence, both written and oral, was not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid. Overall she was a less than impressive witness.”
...

“If the wife considers that my adjudication to be unfairly low, then I would say this. In the end it is for the applicant in ancillary relief proceedings to make a rational and logical case for the award that is sought. If an applicant puts forward an excessive, indeed exorbitant, “claim” which then she (or he) attempts to moderate by way of open offers, but which offers still fail to be supported by rational and logical bases, then the applicant has only herself (or himself) to blame if the court awards much less than what the applicant expects.
“This case is a paradigm example of an applicant failing to put a rational and logical case and thus failing to assist the court in its quasi-inquisitorial role to reach a fair result.”

I've been to England.

"If the wife feels aggrieved about what I propose she only has herself to blame. If, as she has done, a litigant flagrantly over-eggs the pudding and thus deprives the court of any sensible assistance, then he or she is likely to find that the court takes a robust view and drastically prunes the proposed budget."

Never over-egg your pudding tri-peeps!

After I read the OP's first sentence, I thought "Hey, isn't Chris McCormick Australian?"

Expectations of a Multi-Sport discussion forum mislead me.

Yep me too. I was wondering how Macca & English were related.

No worries. It was more a comment on where my head is. Not at all aimed at what you had said.

And to continue on with your thoughts, I don't get why Ms. Mills gets such animosity from the UK. People get divorced. Big deal. Yet, she's portrayed as some money-grubbing, gold-digging harridan.

If this were a case in the US and it was...say...Springsteen instead of McCartney, I don't think the press would bat an eye other than to report that he should have had an iron clad pre-nup.

There is definelty not an air of sympathy for Heather over here.

Most feel that she is a golddigger and was only ever after Pauls money but I dont know the girl so I cant say

However the press do not like her because she is a total self publicist and yet complains constantly about press intrusion

It made the news headlines yesterday but tomorrow it will be forgotten

Quick Joke

A Miner in a South African Gold Mine recently lost his leg in a mining accident
When he woke up in hospital he saw his best friend standing beside the bed. He looks down at his one leg turns to his friend with tears in his eyes and says
"What am I going to do - Who is going to want a one legged golddigger?"

Quick as a flash his friend replies
"You should contact Paul Mc Cartney"

Apologies totally uncalled for

Personally, I can't stand McCartney. But as for the money thing... doesn't he have a lawyer say prenup someone?

The topic of the thread gave away the punch line but I still got a good laugh out of it.
