<p>The problem is b). I've tried the piles system of organizing, in the end it just doesn't work well. You can make it work with one person, as soon as you have two it just goes to hell (as does pretty much any organizational system, in my experience).</p>

<p>Part of the problem is that modern society tells us we need stuff. For instance, the only things in my living room right now are a TV, a couch and a coffee table. And I can find pretty much anything I need. But it feels empty. So soon I'll have to go buy stuff and fill it up. And then I won't be able to find anything again.</p>
