Ty played his final regular season game on Friday night- thus, Senior Night. (They did make it into the playoffs- we play either on Friday or Saturday this week.)

Ty surprised me and decided that I was to be the one who walked him out onto the field and through the underclassman gauntlet. He told me to hold his hand and not let go- because I deserved this as much as he did. What the team said to him was just amazing and made my heart melt. At the end of the gauntlet he handed me a rose and said that he would have never made it to this point if I hadn't stood by him.

I couldn't help but to see the little 8 year old who use to need my help putting on his shoulder pads and buckling his belt as we stood under the lights. As he stood there with tears in his eyes, and now much taller than me, I know he made it and will do whatever it is, he puts his mind to.

Sometimes parenting is really hard. Most of the time it's a wonderful. And every once and a while, we see the work we have done.
