Well, I finally broke down and ordered a bike trainer. Bike Nashbar has a "returns" section where they offer open box items for 50% off but with the full guarantee/warranty. I grabbed the wireless fluid trainer, a mat and a riser.

I am very excited. I can read books and watch TV while coasting easily along in Z1 on my bike in the comfort on my basement. j/k

http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...0and%20Rollers

Thor, I *think* this is the one you have maybe?

Now to find me some training plans...

I think Thor has the same trainer, it's made by Elite. When you get you unit, make sure it wasn't part of this recall, you don't want to "stack it" as they say:

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml06/06533.html

THe thing that I like about the trainer is that I can use it only half dressed.
just shorts and a sports bra.
I save on laundry that way!

Mine won't ever be seeing the light of day. Had a kid...didn't know skin could stretch that much.

I wear shimmels (?) but nix the sports bra only look.

I gotta get the girls smaller before the support of a shimmel will be enough.
:S
That would be a nice alternative.

I think it's like a loooong sports bra thing...covers the belly more.

Me too, Stitch! I figured that out after my first ride. But, sometimes the sun hits the wall and I make a shadow - I'm not liking the profile of my stomach right now! But, that is one of the reasons I'm committed to riding the darn thing!

Well, just got an email from Nashbar: "The item is no longer available". I guess I don't have to worry about finding workouts or recalled items.

BUMMER!

At least it's not as hard as finding a pool...
