<p>As my legs are 80% recovered from Milwaukee Marathon and I have the racing bug, I thought I would go for a nice shuffle through the woods this Sunday - Here is what comes to mind when I think about the race:</p>

<p>I will be doing a little run in the woods and thinking about you guys - I start @ 6:00am and will not likely finish until @ 4:00pm. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Headlamps shining in the cool morning air ... the sun will rise gloriously ... the warmth on my face will bring a smile ... the morning mist burning off ... the breeze rustling in the trees ... crunching leaves underfoot ... a beautiful fall day for a run.  </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Those leaves will be hiding all the rocks and roots I am going to be triping on ... falling on ... all the constant hills are going to trash my quads ... It will be harder and harder to lift up my feet ... I will start falling ... and falling ... swear a few times ... maybe punch a tree or two.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I will gobble gu's a plenty ... yummy chocolate fudge ones, sweet strawberry banana ones ... my stomache will start to sour from all the gu ... I will continue to force them down ... gagging ... gagging ... forcing ... forcing ... but my stomache is iron strong ... it will take it ... it must take it.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I will take my S-caps ... its time for salt ... is it time for salt already? ... did I just take one or should I be taking one?  ... Might as well take another one to make sure.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>It will go from cool to warm to hot ... sweat will start pouring  ... salt has crusted up on my face ... it will start to run into my eyes ... it burns .. burns ... burns!  </p>
<p> </p>
<p>As my eyes burn I will get mad ... I may punch a few more trees ... If an ultra runner screams in the woods and no one is around to hear it ... oh, never mind ... running is stupid ... I just want to get it over with ... so I will haul ass to the finish line.</p>

<p>and then ... start dreaming about running the next one!</p>

<p>I had Gi issues for the race - 7 stops / 30 minutes.  Kindof funny to pass the same 6 people 5-6 times in the race.</p>

<p>4:38 / 4:33 = 9:11</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A bit more painful than I remember.</p>

<p>I assume the GI issues are just an advanced weight loss method. You should have a good report for the weigh in thread.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I, on the other hand, was up 2 pounds after my marathon. Maybe if I had gone another 25 miles.....</p>

<p>This is the most sore I have ever been (Including 24 hour races) - quads and hams are normally sore, but my calves are non-functioning</p>
<p> </p>
<p>But I deserve to be in pain ... fat hurts</p>

*yikes on 7 stops in 30 minutes .. I thought the 7 stops in 3:50 was bad for me at Hatfield and McCoy Marathon in '09, bwahahahaa ... sorry ... but I sort of know how you felt ...</p>

<p>and you still kicked 50 miles in the arse!  wow.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> I hope your calves are functioning real soon ... and if the next race is a  DNS, who gives a rat's arse?  You've kicked it this year and need to take care of you!</p>

<p>Sorry for the confusion - I was kindof saying 9:11 - 30 minutes was @ 8:40-8:45<br><br>

<p>2 races left this year - Both will be fun times</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Door County fall 50 (10/23)</p>
<p>HH Flying Monkey Marathon (TN - 11/20)</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Then serious training starts for next year<br><br>
