Had a blast getting a few pounds of candy last night. I tried not to indulge too much but I definitely had my share. I'm glad I decided to go.

3 days!!!
A hilly 8.3 running to work one of the longer ways. Road rash and bumps don't seem to be slowing me up too much.

Had one of my earliest runs ever, as I began at 4:00 AM this morning. I completed 10 miles with two of my other running friends as the temperature hovered right around the freezing mark. (I still wore shorts though.) Have a good workout!

That's what I do when I go for higher mileage weeks. Up and out the door for 4.

What are you training for Lof?

Another rest day. Taking the comeback easy. And, I've got no big goal race ahead of me, which means I'm running because & when I want to!

5 really slow miles @ lunch - No watch - I refuse

Its easy to say you ran slow - but I am mentally too fragile to actually know how slow they really were

Hi all,

No run today.

I have set a new goal for the rest of the year.

If you saw the mileage thread for October, you saw I was at 2169.69 this year. Last year, I did a grand total of 2560. This year, the goal is to beat that. I have a stretch goal of 2600. 431 miles in 2 months. Gonna be tough, but it's not impossible if the weather cooperates.

Avery civilized time for me today out at 2:30 PM for 8 miles. A marathon Pace sort of work out. Total time of 1h14m20s. The middle six were all around the 9:00 mark which is my projected pace.

Many good runs here today.

Alex aren't you a little old to bag Candy?

Griz, I'm base building before I start an aggressive 5K/Boston Marathon training schedule. At this point, I'm just piling the miles on. It's been fun.

Road hawk - I figure I'm the youngest one here, and some Kickrunner needs to collect candy so I took the large burden upon myself. To my disgust I found I have developed a few cavities though, so I won't get around to all the gluttony I was hoping for.

Oh well, maybe I'll actually quit snacking so much now.

7 miles starting easy and gradually bringing the pace to marathon pace. I have had kind of an exhausting day and week, so I felt sort of blah at first, but better by the end.

I love running, but I'm not sure I love anything enough to get out of bed at 4 to do it. Never say never, I guess!

Colder out, 45F at 8pm. 5 miles easy.

Took the day off yesterday and felt raring to go tonight. Felt okay for about 3 miles, then I can feel lingering knee pain from the marathon.

Will take another day off tomorrow. I have no set schedule now and will run or rest as I please.

Lof- I'm interested in your training ideas for Boston. Do you have a tentative plan?

I do. I'll basically be following Daniels' recommended 5K to 15K schedule (lots of speedwork), while adding long runs every weekend in the 14-20 mile range. I plan to keep my weekly mileage in the 60-70 range. From March 16th on, I will be using the last 5 weeks of Daniels' Marathon Schedule A in final preparation for Boston on April 21st.

roots, are you going to be in Boston this year?

Yes. Its a goal race.

I really like your idea for training. Its flexible. We could be virtual training buddies during March and April.

Got my Boston confirmation card in the mail today - I'm pumped, now just to lose 40# and be able to run again

It would be cool if the three of us could hook up to take in the Women's Trials or something on the weekend.

Roots, it's a goal race for me as well. That's why I'm already targeting it with my training. It seems weird to already be excited about an April race in early November, but I am!
