I voted. The way the calendar in VA works there is an election for something every year. Other than some noise over the local school board elections it's likely to be quiet day at the polls. Still I always go and vote.

Cross training day today...fishbowl. It almost didn't happen, though. I was packing my gear bag this morning and could not locate either my swim shorts or goggles. Hmm...what are the chances they're still in the suitcase I brought back from the Caribbean a few weeks ago? That's my best guess. If not there, option #2 may be St. Thomas. But I didn't have time to go down to the basement and start searching suitcases, so I just grabbed my backup pairs of each...Columbia swim shorts that I had just last night packed into a winter clothes storage bin and a pair of purple tinted Speedo goggles. And with that, the plan was back on.

BBS - my last tempo run (Saturday) was kind of like that too. I think it gets that way when you're finishing off peak intensity. With a proper taper that pace should be there on race day.

4bm - nice job on the swim

kevin - enjoy the afternoon trot

RA - your quads can thank all those bridges. Mine hurt pretty bad last year, too, and that was despite wearing calf sleeves for the race. Smart to take some recovery time...I took me about 5-6 days to even contemplate a run after NYC, and aside from a few very light jogs here and there, I took from running off until Thanksgiving.
