Morning all. Didn't have time to get ready for kids last night. DW and went out to eat, followed by shopping, and errands. Didn't get home till way past time for kids.

No time for run this morning either. Men's breakfast plus attending funeral for a old friend at 10 this morning. Have a church dinner tonight so I'm going to have to run at lunch or after dinner. Just 5 planned for tonight.

Rip - is the mattress to old or you? :) Maybe both?

Hope you all have greta days today.

Never got a chance to do any run yesterday. My job was to give out candy at the door, naturally I indulged a bit myself...hopefully did not do too much damage.

Today I snuck in about 80 minutes on the TM at work 9.3 miles total - 2.25 miles warmup, 6 miles at 7:53, one cool down at about 8:45. Twenty seconds faster than last week but it felt the same, so I must be doing something right...

Hi KS, PT, and Bob. Light turnout today.

We had a great weather day in the 50s and sunny so I planned on doing a rail trail run. I ended up painting all day so I went to the fitness center to run on the treadmill. If the running started hurting my back, I could always just jump off. After not racing last weekend and considering a 50k in two weeks, I wanted to go long. Started out at 8:30 pace and sped up .1 mph every mile. To break up the run, I also did one minute at 4% incline every 10 minutes. I did 7.59 miles the first hour. By the time I got to the first incline part the second hour I was doing 7:13 pace and it was pretty hard so I didn't do anymore after that. I eventually got down to 6:49 pace for the last mile and ended up with 16 miles in 2 hours so the last hour was 8.41 miles and 7:08 pace. Back ended up feeling good and just a little ITband tightness as usual.

I still can't believe how much my back hurt sunday morning and it was apparantly just a muscle spasm and not a strain.

Well, Rip, now I guess I have to post - to boost the numbers! I'm glad your back spasm subsided for your run today.

I only ran 5 EZ miles today, but spent some time thinking about last Sunday's trail race and how much I enjoy hill-running....such a feeling of accomplishment and so much fun. Granted I have limited experience with it, but still...lovin' it!
