<p>When I traveled to Pasadena for our three most recent Rose Bowls, the Cheeseheads partied in SHORTS 'n' sweatshirts 'n' ballcaps while snarfing down Brats, Beer, Cheese, yadda yadda.</p>
<p>Listening to our marching band serenade us with polka tunes. <em>Yeah, so we're pasty white and fat....um...so, who won all three of those match ups?</em> <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/rolleyes.gif" style="width:16px;height:16px;" title=""></p>

<p>Meanwhile, the USC and/or Stanford alums were dressed in dockers and sweaters, nibbling on shrimp 'n' wine.  I'll bet they had easy-listening tunes piped into the tents too! <snort></p>

<p>In other news, this Cam Newton stuff is really snowballing.  It'll be interesting to see how this affects the team.  I'm already on record predicting that Alabama beats Auburn in a couple weeks.  Right now, I'm almost ready to pull out the upset card and say that Georgia will beat Auburn this weekend.  But not quite...</p>

<p>I have tickets for the Auburn-Georgia game but I told gf to sell them if she can get some decent coin. Last time she had some good seats we went on a cruise for what we got for the tickets.</p>
<p>I like football, but come on....if someone will offer me $1500 for a couple of seats I can deal with it on a big screen.</p>

<p>Brutey we know that you know your football, but I do think it's true that California (state, not school) fans don't have the passion as fans from the South, Midwest or Texas where the people are just plain freakin' crazy. I have been to games at the Coliseum, Rose Bowl, the old Stanford Stadium and it's a whole different ballgame than at Georgia, Alabama, Michigan...or even West Virginia.</p>

<p>I'll vouch for that at least in this part of the woods, just from listening to talk radio.  The Bears and the Cardinal get hardly a sniff from callers, who prefer to talk about the pro teams in this area.</p>

<p>The few times I've been in Oregon, sports radio was all about the Ducks and occasionally about the Beavers depending on where I was in the state.  Similar to other parts of the country, there's not much in the way of pro sports to talk about though (only the Trailblazers) so that's understandable.</p>

<p>I was up in Seattle recently and sports talk seemed to be split among the three football teams, as they were all coming off sucky efforts (they were humorously trying to find people/things to blame for their combined 126-3 thrashing a couple weekends ago.)  As the week went on, they were trying to discuss which of their teams had the best shot of winning their next week's game.<br>

I agree about the passion for the game isn't the same out here in the west. That doesn't mean there aren't knowledgeable football fans out here. I do think USC and it's football history is on a par with any school. These west coast teams having the best college QB's.</p>
