Today is the day Georgia voters go to the polls for the Democrat and Republican primaries. There are some interesting races in both parties but turnout is really light today. Going to vote at noon I was in and out in 15 minutes and that was even having to find exactly where to go in a new polling place.

Among other things we are voting on whom to replace the current Governor who cannot run again. So, I'm somewhat surprised by the really light turnout. Are people that disinterested this year with everything going on in the nation?

I forgot to go vote. :( I realized it when I was watching the news at 7:00 after the polls closed. :( I guess not as many people came out since it's just a primary and it's prime vacation season....

I still feel like a bad citizen! :(

I'm still mad at Barnes too and did vote for another candidate even though Barnes won 60% of the vote. Not to worry. We get to vote against him in the General Election. But I suspect the race will be close so don't forget to vote in the General Election.

On the other hand, since you did not vote yesterday you can actually still vote in the Republican runoff election if you have any particular candidate you are interested in whereas I can't since I voted in the Democrat Primary yesterday. Once of those quirks of Georgia politics.

After being in GA and FL for the past 2 weeks I found the TV campaigns truly hilarious.

I was happy to know that the borders of Gerorgia were going to be protected like Arizona...damn Alabamans.

Sadly I didn't hear of a single candidate compared to Hitler or Stalin though so we know they are ALL better than the President.

To allow voting in the Democratic Primary as a Republican (and vice versa) makes about as much sense to me as having GaReb770 select Georgia's lineup when they play Ga Tech.

Some of my best friends are UGA fans. Just because I chose their lineup would have nothing to do with them losing all 12 games this season.
Why? I like to vote based on who I think will do the best job and best represents my interests and morals. I don't like having to choose one or the other.

I can't stand Barnes, though. So, it looks like I will have to start figuring out which one of the others I like better.... I just wish we had more parties/choice here. I find most candidates on both sides are just shades of grey.
