Thanks for starting Johnny. Nice way to start your day before work. I still need to burn that CD for you. haven't forgotten completely.

Yeah, I wasn't liking the cold fog this a.m. either, but then I just think of the midwesters and all their snow and sub freezing temps . . . brrrrrrr. A friend of mine is in her freshman year at Oklahoma Christian U - so she's getting quite the dose of what winter is like after living in So. Oregon all her life.

intervals at the track last night. only had time for a total of 4 miles. 2 mile warm up , followed by 3x2 min intervals 7:20 pace with 3:00 recoveries. then a few laps for a cool down before I needed to get home.

today is a rest day. another staff meeting at lunchtime. two free lunches in a row. yippee!

Hi Johnny, TW, and KS!

Hi Tamster!

Before I opened the Spoiler, I was thinking "didn't know choir was that much of a contact sport............" Fighting over the solos, were we?

Thanks for all the weight advice/encouragement yesterday. Don't think it's all muscle mass, as some clothes are getting a wee bit tighter, which is the only thing I truly care about, especially after buying a few pairs of skinny jeans recently. Will start with halving the ethanol ration. The effect of work, etc. on my blood pressure may dictate that I don't eliminate it all.

5 meh miles on the TM before work.

Enjoy your day, everyone!

Hello, Masterfuls.

They're saying just snow showers for the next two days up this way, and I hope that's the extent of it.

I got in three miles today, slow, steady and sluggish. This week is already looking to be among my better ones so far this short year.

Good runs, all

Hey hey hey over there

16 miles today a swim and some circuits, I have another marathon on Friday so after 59 miles in 4 days I am having an easy day tomorrow

Here in the UK we have spent today discussing best half marathon compared to BMI to see if we could get some conversion for the heavier runner.

Take the time in minutes divide it by your BMI the lower the number the better you did.

Quick flyby, since I have to go run out to pick up DD from the gym. I was finishing my workout and about to go home as she was walking from school to there, about a mile away. She texted me, asking would I come pick her up halfway. I said no, that's your warmup walk. I'm such a mean mother, I know.

Did a nice pace workout on the treadmill today. I'm thinking about running a 15k in a couple weeks and would like to run near an hour which would be a 6:26 pace. The plan was to run 6:31 pace (at 3% incline) for the fast parts to get the turnover I will need and do 2 minute recovery at 8:27 pace. I warmed up 2 miles in a little under 17 minutes. I then did 4 X 60 seconds, 4 X 75 seconds, and 3 X 90 seconds before finishing up with 3:30 at 6:27 pace. That gave me 17 minutes at a little faster than 5k pace effort but with the long recoveries, the run was more medium effort.

Ended up with 7.8 miles in 60:00 and 1,235 ft elevation gain.

While my BMI has stayed pretty steady, my times have slowed a little since I hurt my back. I went from 3.85 (79/20.5) to 4.09.

Either I'm way too fat or I'm way too slow... eh, probably both.... either way, my number started with a 6, so there's some data for you, Gobi, on the other end of the spectrum.
