I just got off the phone with Ian's therapist at residential treatment. Whether or not it was appropriate, I laughed when he told me all this stuff and I apologized. Obviously, he's not thinking things through.

The last few days have been rough.

Friday, he was caught cheeking his meds and when he was caught, he tried to bust loose on them. They rounded him up.

Sunday (after I visited.) He decided he was going to bust loose. Unfortunately, the kid he chose to run with wasn't very fit and he only got a mile before his partner quit. They rounded him up again.

Yesterday, he spent all day on the floor in seclusion.

Bad News: He's not handling it very well.
Good News: He's doing all the things that tell them he needs treatment.

That really is good news, in a strange sort of way. I'm fumbling here, so bear with me. I would think that it would be easier to work up a treatment plan on a kid who is acting out like this, than on one who does nothing at all. Does that make sense?

And I know there are plenty of new babies around here that could use hats

I also tend to think that the more dramatic the reaction, the more likely that the treatment is hitting a nerve. He wouldn't be so threatened if the treatment wasn't aimed correctly. Ya know what I mean? So him running/reacting means 1. he needs treatment and 2. the treatment is probably working or at least is the right treatment.

I could also use a hat.

I laught too at inappropriate moments - like when someone gives me bad news. I guess its better than crying or getting mad.

(((((Alia & Ian))))

I too could use a hat - a beanie style in black, brown or dark grey would be cool - but I don't want to impose.

Are you on Ravelry, Alia? There are so many great crochet patterns.

We could do a swap, knit for crochet

Glad they're taking good care of him there. I know it must be tough for you both but I'm sure this is what needs to happen!

The yarn I was talking about looks like this but it has reds and yellows in it as well as the blues, blacks, and whites.
