I've set up the planning room to allow you guys to see the new site template. The logo should be added in the next few days. The ONLY place you'll see this template is in the Planning Room. Once you go back to the regular forum area, the old template will take over.<br><br>
I thought I'd let you see it and give me your comments. I will try to change some things - but it's all code so I have to 'poke' and 'hope' I get it right! (It took me two hours just to try and figure out how to get the sponsors on the left bar!)<br><br>
So.. feel free to make suggestions and comments.<br><br>
We will be going to this template in the near future - anything we can do to make it 'better' or at least satisfactory to the bulk of the users , we'll do!<br><br><br>

I am finding the colors a bit "jarring". Will there be other color combos to pick from?<br><br>
Also, do you have an option to put the avatar to the left of the message, instead of as a "header" of the message. I know that is probably not clear, but I have seen other forums where the message is directly to the right of the avatar, so you don't have to scroll so far to see the next messages.

it'll take some getting used to. It took a LONG time for this page to download on my computer. I'm at home and only have dial up available (at work I have dsl). The other screens with the old template load quick considering I'm on dial up. I think it's all the colors or added graphics that make the page download slow for me. But I'm probably one of the few in the world that don't have the availability of dsl or cable, so it's just something I have to live with. The posting and thread area of the screen are considerably smaller now too since the sponsor banners are taking up the left column. But I'm old - I like things big.<br>
But I'll get used to the new look. No real complaints, Rich. It looks fine.

I kind of like the colors. I don't like the grey text on grey background. I also wish the hyperlinks were in different colors. For instance: <a href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">Google</a>. Be nice if it stood out.

I am not thrilled with the size of the forum space, too narrow. Not crazy about the colors either. And the default light grey text, hard for my old eyes to see.

I'm still working on it.<br><br>
I've found the place to adjust the width and will try to increase that slightly.<br><br>
I know not everyone will 'love' the new colors - I'm getting one more template added. This will give me three (current default, this one, and new one).<br><br>
I do think this template has a much more professional look and separates us significantly from other boards.<br><br>

I agree. This is very professional looking. I also agree with the others that the butterscotch color is not my favorite, but I'm sure I can get used to this if we won't have different color skin options.

If you look at the button next to names, what are the colors? Green is there, red means hiding. What are they hear? I can't tell. One of my favorite candies and we used to have a dog called "Butterscotch"!<br><br><img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br><br>
If it were a matter of modifying the color, I'd change it - but if you notice the 'gradient' look. that's a 'gif' that creates it and I'd have to make another gif that is gradient. And that is hard and takes a lot of time.<br><br><br>
SOOOOO... it may be so "1978" WHICH isn't a bad thing since I graduated from HS in 1977!<img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"><br><br>
And the colors are a drastic change from the other standard template... but this layout is much nicer..<br><br>
The jury is still out on allowing selections of the three different skins. I'm in the process of developing a 'premium' package and I'd like to have the skins option as part of the premium package and leave the 'free version' to a specific template.<br><br>
We'll discuss this more in the future as we get closer<br><br>
but so far, this is what I've got planned for the Premium package<br>
1. A 'Founders Forum' - this is a closed forum that is UN-moderated. Access for posting and viewing only available to premium members<br>
2. Custom Title - Premium members will have access to creating their own title<br>
3. No Ads<br>
4. Increased PM<br>
5. Ability to see 'who's on-line' (Still contemplating this)<br>
6. Ability to see 'who's invisible' (Still contemplating this)<br>
7. Increased PM with the ability to override quotas (if receiver is over quota - pm is still delivered<br><br>
The new Vbulletin will also come with a Blog and a Photo Gallery. These both will be part of the premium package.<br><br><br>
