OK....sorry I got sidetracked going back to work this week.

To answer haha's question, and this is obviously up for discussion by everyone here--this is the tentative concept I was thinking about.

We pick an ingredient at the start of each week and have until the end of the week to try it in a recipe and post about it. This gives us time to either research or create a recipe and time to shop and try it. We can take turns picking, on a first come first served basis, if we just want to share recipes and not "compete." BUT...like Iron Chef, the challenge will be that whatever is picked, ya gotta use. No debating or arguing about why that's not a good choice. You can make your favorites when it's your turn to pick.

If we want to make it a contest, we can set up a separate poll thread each week with the recipes listed. Anyone could vote who's part of the game, whether you entered a recipe that week or not. Whoever wins that week's contest gets to pick next week's ingredient or pick someone to suggest it (if by chance one person wins more than once).

Maybe every four weeks or so we throw a second meat or fish ingredient in in addition to a vegetarian item. I know a lot of folks here are either veg, veg-curious or eat a lot of veg meals while not exclusive, so we can make it heavy on the grain/vegetable/fruit/other vegetarian ingredients, like tofu type items. But I'd like to offer the less frequent second option of meat or fish sometimes too. I don't want anyone who wants to play to feel that they can't.

This is just a thinking out loud post, so anyone's suggestions are welcome, I want to make this a group effort so more people will want to play. I think we can learn a lot from each other about healthy options, different foods and new ways to make old favorites.

Feedback, additional comments, thoughts, suggestions??
