This will be our first 5K and we plan to make it an annual event. This 5K is to honor my precious 24 year old daughter Christian who was tragically killed. She was a kindergarten teacher. We set up a scholarship fund in her name (Christian Giles Scholarship Fund) to raise money for teachers in Title 1 schools classroom supplies and field trip expenses in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. Her favorite color is purple. Help ASAP - the race is May 14 (in honor of her birthday) Thank you

I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for anyone who loses a child.

I agree with MBannon. It's simple and straight forward. If you want something catchier what you could do is run a little contest at the event this year and have people submit race names to win a nice little prize...hopefully donated by a generous sponsor.

I like the straightforward "memorial" approach, too... but just in case you were looking for something related to education, how about:

The Race for the Future 5k

or combine the two thoughts for "The Christian Giles Race for the Future 5k"

Whatever the name, this is a lovely way to remember your daughter.
