Why would I need a 4 hour delay on my dishwasher? I have no idea.

No, wait a minute, maybe it is for when you know you want to fall asleep and can't because the blasted dishwasher is on. But that doesn't make sense either.

I had thought of that, but I am not the type to fall asleep or leave the house with a dishwasher going for fear of that being the day it decides to leak.

The only reason I can think of is if you do want it running overnight but first you are going to be taking a shower or doing laundry so you want it to run later when the hot water is replenished??

Like waking up to the coffee that is brewing with a timer, you get to wake up to squeaky clean dishes! Woot!

Fwiw, we have that function on our dishwasher; but I've never used it.

Hubby insists on using it. If the feature is there, one MUST use it. I prefer to run it right after dinner. When the dry cycle starts, I open it and flip the plastic cups to get rid of puddles, then resume. However, if the cups are mostly dry or there aren't that many, I'll skip the dry cycle and just leave it open to finish drying.

btw--hubby was panicked the other evening. We were almost out of dish washer stuff. What ever would we do?!?!?! Uh, hand wash? You know, like I always did before we had a dishwasher???

Ok, now this does make sense. Not applicable here, but I undertand it.
Actually, there are some power companies that charge less for electricity during non-peak hours. So, if you set it to run at 3 AM or something.
That's the only thing I can think of.

We don't have it here either. But I sure wish we did. I'd run the dishwasher, dryer, washing machine...all at night.

But, alas, we do not.
