hit my husband's car today. Dude couldn't even be bothered to pick up the pieces. Came and told my husband, "I hit your car, let me know what you want to do" and walked out.

This is almost literally the car my husband has wanted forever. Sheesh.

Front bumper alone is $450+ and front quarter panel is about $200, unless they can repair the chips that went to the metal.

I sure as heck ain't paying for it.

Damage is about a foot long and 8-10 inches wide. Caused an intake piece to break and it fell off somewhere.

Hubby politely asks for boss's insurance information. Then he calls boss's agent and lets the ins. co. handle it Better yet, he let's YOUR insurer call the boss's insurer. Keep it out of the office as much as possible.

We have the same insurance co. so that should be easy.

Hubs is trying to keep it out of the office b/c he really really hates office gossip and actively tries to stop cow-orkers from engaging in it. It was a positively poisonous atmosphere when we first got here.

The issue (well, maybe not in the state that Airehead is in, but it certainly is here), is that, if you make a claim, your insurance rates goes up. Sometimes a lot more than (over the course of several years) much more than what the claim was originally.

So, Airehead's DH's boss may want to just pay him instead of involving the insurance company.

It's a shame. I mean, that's what insurance is for, and you can go YEARS without a claim, and they slam you when you make one.
