<p>Depending on where the next race is you probably won't need a wetsuit.  Lake temps are typically still on the warm side in September...unless it's one of the Great Lakes in which case it's a crapshoot.</p>

<p>It would help to get a wetsuit,  but not required.    IMO if you are doing just a sprint tri, don't see to much gain...  if its longer, the wetsuit will help a little (Technique is more important).       Where in the midwest? </p>
