On Sunday, I participated in an MS150 warm-up ride, which was my first organized ride, and the longest ride I have ever done. It was a half-century and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.

I finished in about 2 hours and 50 minutes. It was not a race, so it was not timed officially, but I did time myself. That time is without the two stops I made. One was about 7 minutes, and the other was much longer because I had to change a flat (it was right before a rest stop so I walked a few yards to the rest stop and changed it there - and this bike shop guy offered to do it for me. he didn't seat it properly and the new tube blew as I was true-ing the wheel - OOPS!). So that second stop was a little longer.

Anyway, it was SO MUCH fun and I cannot wait to do it again. I went by myself, which was fine. I didn't really ride with anyone, but I was "in the pack" for a while. It was great.

I am signed up for a metric century in March and can't wait!!!!

well, no, he changed the second one for me since he screwed it up, but I checked it before I put it back on. Goes to show that I should have changed my own damn tire!

Thank you! I consider myself to be in good shape - I am really a distance runner first and a cyclist second, but I have IT band issues right now and am not able to run for another few days (it sucks). I definintely got the rush from riding, though!!

YES!!!! Which ride did you do? It WAS beautiful. I went by myself - I didn't ride with a group, but did notice that riding "among" others is MUCH easier than by myself!!!

I did the 63 miler as part of my day-long effort to get to 100 miles. I rode my trainer before, then biked there and ran there, then went to lunch and then came home and rode the trainer again while watching HS Musical. The whole thing took place over 10 hours...so we'll call it 10 mph!
