But as I am trying (to no avail) to focus on work, I stumbled back over to kick and see many who I don’t see on FB anymore.

My Dad died 9 days ago. Two days after I did the PanMass I found out he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer (weird timing!). We were all scared but it turned out it was Stage 1 and the surgeon thought he could cure him. The surgery was 6+ hours long but all went well. He was recovering and doing well, saw the surgeon for a check up on Friday the 30th. Then Saturday things took a turn for the worse and he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. I drove the hour to my hometown with DH and met my Mom, Sister and Brother there. They were able to stabilize him and both the surgeon and his pulmonologist referred to it as a “bump in the road”. We were obviously ecstatic and drove the hour back home. 30 minutes after walking in the door we got the call that he was “coding”.

It was such a rollercoaster and I can’t believe he’s gone. He was amazing and I am devastated without him. I guess I need a virtual hug from all my kick buddies L
